Monochrome (for those who like dark skins), updated... (5 Viewers)

I must say, Monochrome is a geniuous skin, and it's by far the best I've seen so far!

However, I feel that there are some things that ain't supposed to look the way they are. I don' know if this is a skin-related issue, a plugin-related issue, but I'll post it here anyways.

My current setup;

Windows XP SP2
Media Portal v0.2.3.0 final w/ SVN 01-31-2008 Revision:17231
MyFilms 4.4.1.1 SVN-edition
MyTVSeries SVN rev 265
Monochrome 1.2.653

Added just two seasons of two series, just to test. Everything seems fine.


Latest shows this.... should it be like this?



Genres...



Channels...



Favourites...



If I enter a serie, this screen is showed. It seems it doesn't show serie/season-information in the info-panel... is this the way it's working atm? So I should maybe use the "no series info panel"-xml?

Nvidia graphics by any chance, got the same just gone back to 94.24 driver which has corrected issue, this is with xp.

Vista latest drivers do not show this, and as this is my Dualboot testrig, so hardwares the same, i know what differences there are between the 2 operating systems.

Could well be! I've just upgraded to XP after 1 year of Vista, so I naturally grabbed all the new XP stuff that was around. I'll change the driver and report back. Weird nontheless. Crysis, COD4, XPMCE all have no graphical errors so I guess I discounted the driver as the problem.

@ Jocke: Try to add some more series and see if that solves the latest show screen. The fav screen has to be setup in tv-series config manually. The boxes that display info about the series really depend on that info being available in the online database, if it isn't, then it just wont display. If you look closely you can see it discovers what genre the show is.

other then that I dont think a lot of people use any other view then /channel/all/favs/recent/, so those are probably the most functional.

Well unfortunatly it's not the Nvidia driver causing my GFX issue with Monocrome. Just downgraded to the last 94.24 set from Nvidia and the problems persist. I used driver cleaner pro just to be sure. Anyone else suffering the same problem or am I alone on this one?

Hi Guys,

love the skin. It's actually the best I've tried (and I've tried a few believe me!).

However I've got a problem that noboby else seems to have. When I start TV and enter the Guide, I see this...

Looks like graphical errors flickering all over the place. At fisrt I thought that my GFX card was packing up...but no.... this only happens on Monocrome with TV on and in the guide. Any ideas?

Jaddi01, I have the same problem with monochrome as well as blue two wide. No solution found yet.
I desparately hope for a solution because this problem really messes up the professional feel of MP.

Nice to see I'm not the only one. However I only have the problem on Monocrome. All other skins including the mediaportal wide are fine.

Hey, been using this skin for the past few days now, and i have a suggestion under the film strip view...

At the moment, you have the 'Back' arrow (which takes up up a directory)
You have five movies shown on screen (perfect) - two either side of the selected title

However, when you move past the fith movie, the 'Back' arrow moves, and a sixth movie is shown, with the active movie being at the far right of the screen. In my oppinion, this looks bad.

My suggestion:

-Only display 5 movies at any time (make the ones already there a little bigger)
-The active movie should always be in the middle. Unless the movie is one of the first two movies, or the last two movies. This also gives a much nicer feeling of which movies you've just looked at, and which movies are coming up.
-Using this method, you can also keep the 'Back' button visible

Just installed this and it's really cool, but when I go into my TV series it doesn't display any logos for anything. Also, where do I put all those other logos for the channel and codec logos etc.?

Have just discovered this skin and love it, for the past few months i have bene using my own mdified version of the CORE skin because if its simplicity and clean look, how ever this skin blows CORE out of the water as such

i do have one small problem with what is my most used plugin the MP-TVSeries, im running MP 0.2.3.0 stable with MP-TVSeries v1.2.9.34660

when you enter it the series info panel just show the database tags and not the actual information stored, i have verified all the information genre, runtime etc is actually present and as you can see in the screen shot below all the logos are present which must be coming from the database info

i have noticed in the skin info section you support MP-TVSeries v1.2.9.39206 where do you find this version as the latest version i can find is build 34660?

would love to resolve this issure before i make this my new default skin

looks like it was the MP-TVSeries version i have just browsed the SVN realeases for the MP-TVSeries and installed version 1.2.9.35597 and i now have all fields displayed

not sure if it is actually mentioned in this thread somewhere that its based on and SVN release onthe tv series plugin,

for those of you with similar problems the svn version i used can be found here
