When browsing the movie list, I noticed that "Inland Empire" had zero runtime. I tried to update the info but it does not work. I first thought it was because the new scraper (Movie-XML did get the runtime if it was entered), but "Kurenai no buta" that I added today did get the runtime correctly added to the db.

This is actually a bug in the IMDB scraper, i committed the fix for verification (Milestone 0.5.6) this morning.

    Hi everyone,

i'm experiencing some weird behaviour after i manually remove a media file from the scanned folder.
MP crashes if i start it up, leaving me with the standard Microsoft error window.
Tried to search the issue tracker and this forum, but came up with nothing and
i'm a little hesitant to make another bug report, which might have been discussed already, so...

This is the exception, which crashes MP:
    Code:
    2008-09-24 07:26:05.718750 [ERROR][PathScanner]: MediaPortal: Unhandled exception occured
    2008-09-24 07:26:06.078125 [ERROR][PathScanner]: Exception :System.NullReferenceException:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

    I've also attached my logfiles.
Thank you for any help in advance.
I have slipped out a new release containing a fix for this bug. There are no other changes included, only this fix. See the opening post of the thread for details. Download the update here.

I assume you mean to the GUI? We have talked about this and there is an issue created for it. Armand, the other main developer on the project also works on the MyTrailers plug-in and he is doing some cool search/filtering stuff with that. This may get integrated into Moving Pictures in the near future.

The short answer though is yes, of course, but everything is a matter of time.

Is there a way to add movies to a playlist?

No not at this point, sorry. Maybe in the future, but there are a lot of other features that I think will get implemented first.

Hi, a quick question that, does Moving Pictures adds movies automatically whenever new movie added to the directory or do I have to go to configuration, but by doing that it seems Moving pictures searching all the movies again and duplicate the movies are already in the database

    Thanks

It will automatically load new files dropped in your watch folders. You should not get duplicate movies, if you do there is something wrong and you might want to file a bug report. See my signature for details.

    That would be great too!

Since I had updated to the first version using imdb I hat a little prob with my movie collection:
Only 60% of my movies had a FanArt, 80% of them don't have a cover.

These films aren't any "special" films, you can say they are Blockbuster, like "Tomorrow never dies".

Sorry you're having trouble with artwork. The plug-in is still in beta which means that, among other things, we don't have the luxury of two dozen data providers. Meaning sometimes you will have gaps in the retrieved data right now.

For backdrops, anything that is not available on meligrove.com will not be available in the plug-in. Currently meligrove.com is the only backdrop provider used by Moving Pictures, and as far as I know the only movies backdrop provider with an API on the internet. Meligrove is a community driven website though, meaning all the backdrops you have downloaded have been created and uploaded by other users. So if you would like to see more backdrops I would recommend you pitch in, help out. Create a few backdrops and upload them so the community can benefit. :p

As far as covers, it has been stated many times, but the existing cover scraper will be enhanced with the next release. Because the previous data provider (movie-xml.com) went down very suddenly, 0.5.5 had to be rushed out to give people a working plug-in. The impawards scraper was in progress, but unfortunately the retrieval rate (for me anyway) was only about 60% for movies available on impawards. Our latest build retrieves 96% and hopefully we will get it to 100% before release (probably still at least a week away, maybe more).

Thanks John for the quick reply.

My post shouldn't be critism, I know it is hard work to program such a plugin and I'm looking foward to die ofdb support :)

With the FanArts.. I know that meligrove is the only provider at the moment, but I thought that films like the newer 007s have already at least one FanArt there. So I think I will see how creative my weekend is =)

Hrmm... Well Casino Royale has some fan art. If you find a movie that should have a backdrop but does not, if you could post a log file, that would be very helpful. Really anything that has backdrops on meligrove should have backdrops in the program...
