I'm not shure if it is a bug but i'm a little but confused. The plugins does no find any cover for Death Proof is this movie so unpublic that there is really no cover? Is it possible that in filmstrip view is a placeholder for movies without covers?

Look on Movie Poster Awards - All the Latest Movie Posters whether you can manually download a cover. If so you can add it to the movie in the configuration of the plugin.
I agree with elliotmc that the plugin could look in the movie folder first, for instance for a file called cover.jpg and backdrop.jpg, so you can use your own backgrounds. I reckon the plugin looks in the thumbs folders before it redownloads something, but maybe it would be better to put these files in the movie folder.

Better yet, in setup you could have a user defined variable to look for. That way a user wouldn't have to redo whatever schema they have in place ie. folder.jpg, cover.jpg, etc.

In the current version the cover providers aren't optimized. In the next version this will improve significantly.

All movies I added recently got max rating(before the locale fix I had no rating at all).. Just noticed it inside MP. Ill have a look at the DB and the log later today or tomorrow. If I find anything Ill create ann issue.

Is there any way to have the plugin update just the rating field for all movies? I added/changed quite a few backdrops manually, as well as edited a lot of info. I have almost 400 movies so it would suck if I had to change all that data over again, would almost be easier to manually enter rating for each movie.

Btw it did a great job with finding my movies, even a lot of norwegian names where matched with the correct english ones. Covers wheren't as good as moviexml tho, but that was to be expected. For instance it just couldnt find WALL-E, no matter how I typed it in(its on impawards tho, filed under WALL-E)

In addition to this post, i have a similar issue. Movies rating is not added properly, it adds them without the '.'. So when a movie has a rating of 7.8 is adds the movie as 78, hence the max stars. When i manually update the movie it adds the '.' in the rating but it does not save it in the database. When i reopen the config all ratings are as previous (without the '.' )
Don't know if there is already an issue of this.....

No you misunderstood, he meant that the retrieval rate will be much higher in the new version. If you are looking for better image quality of covers in the GUI you may want to take a look at this thread. Using the work around mentioned there will slightly degrade performance on slower systems, but the image quality of the covers will be boosted.

Well as armandp mentioned, the image retrieval functionality was not that good in the last release. Because movie-xml.com had recently gone down, the plug-in was dead in the water so we had to rush the release out the door. This unfortunately meant that some features got pushed back and others (like artwork retireval) did not get the attention that they needed.

As for your specific example of Death Proof, the problem is that the posters are listed on impawards.com under Grindhouse. This is one of those rare situations that are very hard to plan for.

I am not able to change the default screenresolution of Moving Pictures to 1080 when using a 1080 skin. In the config I can change the preferred values to 1920 width and 1080 height, upon which backcovers with the correct resolution (1080) are downloaded into my thumbs directory, but Moving Pictures still does not fill my screen entirely. It just fills approximately 3/4 of my TV screen and is positioned in the upper-left corner while the rest of the screen remains black. If I use a skin with lower resolution (like X-Face), then Moving Pictures fills my screen completely. Deleting the cache or thumbs directory, nor the re-install of Moving Pictures and re-scanning do not solve the problem.

Does anyone have a working Moving Pictures with a 1080 skin?

I assume you mean multi-seat support? You are probably looking for this guide. This is an unsupported tweak though, so proceed with caution. If multiple instances of the plug-in are running at the same time, connected to the same database, you could get some unpredictable behavior. Official multi-seat support is on the road-map so to speak, but it is not going to happen for a while.
