MP crashes while watching an episode (1 Viewer)

It seems your currect configuration causes the remote to generate an error on every keypress. The "MediaPortal-Error.log" file should be empty on normal usage, and yours is filled from the moment you start using the remote.

Try to eliminate that as a source as well, use keyboard/mouse to control MediaPortal, and see if the same reproducable steps then work fine, so you can narrow it down.

Another good avenue to explore would be your LAV configuration. Verify you have the latest version installed and that MediaPortal is configured correct to use it. This would explain why MKV crash and AVI work fine. Run MediaPortal in windowed mode otherwise and enable the checkbox options on all three LAV sections (filters, video and audio) to show traybar icon when in use. That way you can verify that LAV is actively used and what is happening.

Since you know it crashed on this 2 Broke Girls - 3x14 - Liebe im Container, can you repeat it? If you can let's narrow that down but provide debug logs.

To rule out the remote control (as pointed out by Rochess there might be something wrong there), try using a keyboard to test.

hi there, so i've tested it again withe the first error i sent to you (elementary) but if you want i can reproduce it again with 2 broke girls.
today i watched two and a half men without problems(also mkv files) than i tried to reproduce the error with elementary and tadaaa.
lav filters are up to date and i've never changed anything to this config. today i saw a tv series update and updated the plugin.
and last but not least i haven't used my tv remote today, but i'm using this plugin with hdmi-cec adapter also for a very long time and the error didn't occure at the same time i started using it.

A bug might still lurk under the surface, but if nobody takes the time to really hunt down reproducable steps that consistently cause the problem to happen and ideally can pin-point the root cause, then those bugs will never get fixed.

First step obviously is to eleminate everything "extra". Do not use remote, CEC, or other plugins for that matter. Then if probem goes away it has already been proven that one of those 'extras' is causing the issue. If the problem is still present it will be much easier to fix, because everything else has already been excluded (Elementary my dear Watson).

Yes that's true and i've been waiting everytime watching some series to crash and handover the next report to you guys but nothing happens!
But the only thing i still have locked is wifi remote but after deactivating it i still had problems and then out of a sudden it worked!

BUUT sorry for coming out with this that late and i'm little bit embarassed because we have been talking about trakt before, so on the other end of my MP i got an app managing my watched series/episodes on the go (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.battlelancer.seriesguide), can it be that there was a problem with their liaisson?

No, it had something to do with the MediaPortal player sending unsolicited play events. At least that is as far as I got in tracking down your symptoms.

hi there,
now i was watching for a long time without problems and yesterday i had the same bug again.
this time it was a littlebit different because it chrashed while the episode was paused.
2nd crash was the normal one while watching.
