Sorry for my absence but my first baby is born and i have less time for dev. But i will finish a new version and i will update also the server to donwload this version ASAP ;-)

If we find new bug , i would have a summary list to avoid to search in each post an individual problem.

Really looking forward to the next release, this looks like it may be just what I have been looking for.

Yeah, it'd be nice to have the source for debugging purposes so I could see why the transcoder's scheduled wake-up feature doesn't work for me most of the time. Sometimes it wakes the PC up and sometimes not.

trying this out and seems to run really good! Well done!

I'd like to see the scheduling option have a "named like" feature, would be really handy as I usually only want to compress certain TV recordings not all in the recorded TV directory.

ie: I can have a schedule for anything that has "Play School" in the name, and another entry for anything with "Judge Judy" then they can get compressed at 4am but my Heroes recordings won't as I do not have an entry for them.

Fabrice, congrats!!! I can see why you would not have much time to work on a transcoding plugin, hehe. Maybe you should release the source code and pass the torch for now? I'd love to see your influence on MediaPortal continue in your absence.

Can't this plugin be uploaded to MediaPortal so it has less chance of getting lost?

And it may get more exposure that way too!

Very useful plugin.

I've noticed some problems:

1- Selecting process priority different from "normal" from configuration.exe GUI result in a XML config file always with "normal" process priority. Manually modifying XML config file, the process will start with correct priority.

2- Selecting different output path for transcoded files doesn't work. The transcoded files will be always created in the path of the original files

3- Upgrading to last MediaPortal (0.2.3.0 RC3), configuration.exe shows an error message about transcoding plugin not compatible with current version. I cannot access plugin configuration anymore. Inside main MediaPortal the plugin doesn't show in the plugins page but correctly execute transcoding if previously configured to automatically schedule transcoding on new recordings.

Would be interesting to implement inside the plugin the Distributed Video Transcoding idea that I was able to manage with external utilities.
