    Hi
For me i encoded only with 4Mb/s or 6 Mb/s to have a good quality , but i am agree it is important to share theses good profiles ;-)
    Best Regards,
    Fabrice

The strange fact is that I see a lot of difference between crunchie encoding and ffmpeg encodig at the same bitrate (both 2 pass). Maybe there are some parameters hidden inside.

    Version 0.2.2.0 no SVNs

    See attached log

Some code i use is only available in utils.dll (svn version), you can just take utils.dll from svn zip version and backup the old dll (<MP Folder>\utils.dll) , replace it by the svn version. Normally i tested it works

    Bye

I just read the log, and meybe the quality issue (and audio/video off-sync) rely on this:

    2007-03-04 07.46.44.546875 [Debug][PoolThread9]: [MediaTranscoder.debug] [ExternalTranscoder][Err] Stream #0.1: Video: mpeg2video, yuv420p, 704x576, 15000 kb/s, 52.42 fps(r)

As it i a PAL dvb-t recorded dvrms, I'm pretty sure resolution is 720x576 with a frame rate of 25. On properties tab in wmp report this correctly, while ffmpeg does not.

    Could it be?

    Hi,

    here the new version,

i fixed some parameters issue (may be fix audio/video off-sync) and add new enconding parameters (frame rate and interlacing video)

pierremenard : normally now you can force the frame rate.

Thank you! Anyway it's a little bit strange, I tried ffmpeg command line with several dvr-ms files recorded by MediaPortal and framerate is always wrong (from 0.8 fps to 52 fps).

Is it a mediaportal bug or a known ffmpeg bug?

Moreover, could it be possible to full personalize bitrate? I'd like something between 1024 and 2048...

    F.

p.s. I noticed that crunchie produced 12 bpp avi, while with ffmpeg avi are at 24 bpp. Now I'm trying with YUV420p that should be 12 bpp. I'll let you know.

p.p.s. multipass with mencoder is broken, due to obsolete -pass parameter

p.p.p.s. I think it would be rather good having the possibility of selecting quantizer for xvid compression

    Hi FabriceD06,

I've got an issue when I transcode in 544x576 video resolution.. I suppose because in the command line there's "544x5z76" rather than "544x576"

    Bye

Fabrice, I still can't see my recorded tv episodes when I go to the transcoder plugin. It shows up in Recorded TV. I've included a screenshot of the data in the database. It may have something to do with me using MySQL instead of MSSQL.
