I've been using it for a few hours today, testing each of the menu options with MediaPortal and had a quick play with the plugin management console. I didn't come across any problems - I also like the new view system. I also got my other half to have a go, she was very impressed with the new rating dialog - very slick.

One possible suggestion with the view system - I have about 130 tv series now and so the views is going to be an excellent way of filtering the list when choosing a series. At the moment it's just a list view for choosing the view, any chance of being able to add "view banners" or something like that in the future?

Sounds like a nice enhancement, would need to add the ability to assign an image for the banner and possibly a fanart as well. Please add it to the Issue Tracker so the suggestion doesnt get lost.

I'm just about to install the latest test version, but can I use it on others skins as well? I mean, are there new thing in the plugin wichich skinners should deal with first? Other thing: the ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib has to go the windows folder, but there is also a ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib in the root of mediaportal. I don't know whether it's such a good idea to have multiple dll's with different version in different locations. It cannot be registered, so that's lucky I guess, but it can still lead to unexpected situations.

If you use Series Poster layouts then you will need to wait for an updated skin.

Other thing: the ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib has to go the windows folder, but there is also a ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib in the root of mediaportal. It cannot be registered, so that's lucky I guess, but it can still lead to unexpected situations.

It works in both locations, right now its using the same version as MP1.0.2. The reason I chose the windows plugin folder is that in MediaPortal 1.1.0 the file is going to be removed from the MediaPortal installer so there shouldnt be any conflicts. Im going to wait until MediaPortal 1.1.0 is officially released and will probably move to to the same zip library...im also going to remove the Mediainfo.dll as that is now part of MediaPortal.

Yes, same as before. Just ensure you put in your theTVDB.com account identifier so that you can rate.

Neh, although it really looks great, in my opinion you have to scroll to much and you don't have enough oversight, so I just use a 5x3 widebanner view.

Mmmh ... I have other plugins which use ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib as well. Hopefully everything will still work together in 1.1.0 then.

I'm assuming the old way is going to be dropped, so it's not worth raising an issue for it, but I think it would look better if you switch option 1 and 11. Now 1. is reset rating 2. is 1 star, 3 is 2 stars.

Yes, it will require a skin update to include the new dialog. Same goes for the PinCode Dialog. They are not mandatory as the Rate Dialog will fall back to the old style Menu and the PinCode dialog will fall back to a SMS Style Keyboard with masked input characters.

I dont really plan on making any changes to the old Rate Menu though as its only kept as fail safe. If its a quick trivial change I may add it

EDIT: I made the change just in case people dont like the new dialog.

I installed the previous version again. TvSeries plugin didn't stop processing, which caused stuttering of video playback. I waited for a while and updated manually in configuartion a few times. But after starting Mediaportal and entering tvseries, the new version was always "in process". After installing the previous version everything was fine again.
