My only advice to you @lobozen1 is to delete the series in question from the database.

There is no reason why it should not work for new series, is it possible it has been scanned before you put the series.tvdb file in place? It may have been marked as ScanIgnore meaning it will no longer fix itself on subsequent scans even with the file, only way to fix that is to delete from the database.

To delete a series from the database (if that is your issue), you can enter the config tool and delete from there or from the MediaPortal GUI you need to Show Hidden data from the context menu Options.
Hi Itfearme.
thank you for the fast reply.
I deleted the series already, tried again, deleted again.
The series.tvdb was added to the folder before scanning. Very strange.
Could my huge database (1200+ series!) be a reason?

That shouldn't be a problem. I also have 1100 series in my database and haven't had any trouble adding new series using the workaround.

I can confirm it's now working as expected.

That shouldn't be a problem. I also have 1100 series in my database and haven't had any trouble adding new series using the workaround.

Odd, it's works for some [most?], not others [incliding me]. I've removed series from TV-Series [delete database entry via config], created file 427281.tvdb in home folder for series [FUBAR] and imported - the reported series ID is -589, no online info but all the local files listed.
Thought this could be due to incomplete deletion, so retried with absolute NEW service [never been imported as never existed], created TVBD file [450033.tvdb] in home directory, [Spider-Noir] and import. Reported series ID is -590, etc.

Importing into existing services fine, give it series name, set to 'apply', reclick for 'green' and run import, 100% solid.

Ideas on why me and [at least]Iobozen can't make it work?-<
