[Bug] MP1-4560 Backing out of Pictures full screen freezes MP (1 Viewer)

Description
Whenever I view pictures (non-slideshow, full screen), if I hit back on my MCE remote, backspace on the keyboard, it completely freezes MP. Cant do anything afterwards other than task manager and kill process.

Logs attached, but I don't see anything in particular.

Steps to Reproduce:
pictures -> navigate to folder -> select a picture (to view in full screen) -> advance to next picture -> hit <esc> or <BS> to go back to list view...MP now frozen

Yep

I already see this too, in fact, MP is frozen because MP add picture to database
So you need to wait to finish it, adding to database is needed to have a correct EXIF.

So it could be nice that this part run into background to avoid the freeze (but in fact MP is running).

I would do like this, start MP config and run the database tools running and finish, like this MP will not freeze because all your pictures will ba already added

Click on update database and let running until it finish :

Not sure if we can fix it easily but for sure it's not cool that MP act like freeze.

It is done. MP1-4551 (Re)create all/missing thumbs including sub-folders in My Picture

I have retested too and the freeze happen when back to list (share view) i didn't test date for now and i think, the freeze will finish when all thumbs will be finished to generate.

I have a folder with pictures and video (in mypicture video is ticked to be play).
I start to display a picture and few other when i do back (ESC key) MP act like freeze (GUI freezed and stay like this), this is with MP1-4551 too

MP1-4551 won't resolve this issue. I just said we have same solution generating thumbnails in GUI as configure.exe.

Ah ok but we already has a GUI solution (from setting) not from my picture, so now we have it from my picture with 4551

Yes, in 4551 you can select any folder in the folder tree (not only the root folder) and generate/regenerate the thumbnails.

I will try to reproduce this issue too.

I cannot reproduce this issue here.

1. I copied +500 pictures to a new folder.
2. I entered it (the thumbnail generation thread started in the background)
3. I started to view the 1st. picture
4. Next, next
5. I pressed the ESC to return the GUI.
6. The GUI was ok.
7. I checked the log, the thumbnail generation is not finished yet so the thread does not disturb the GUI.

Is there anything I missed it in the test?

Don't know but for sure i can reproduce the freeze, try to copy also video along with pictures
