Salut,

Nothing to see with your particular case ;-) I test only the quality video of the last version, I don't have your dump problem ;-)

But yes, before optimizing, windows launch auto-update at specified time, launch his auto optimizing task, made many things I don't need during my movie... It made now a long time that I try to identify some possible stutters problem, now I think to have a clean system and I try to share that I do. I'm not a optimizing adept of production computers but here it's a dedicated computer ! (and I know that my computer is one computer and that it is different from the others). Why don't you read my post as a information and as a possible solution ? I'm happy from my system, some of you have problems, I just give MY solution, you use it or not, simple !

    honestly,
i'm using saf 6 on a dedicated client for MP, during the new directshow developing there were many versions of directshow that don't suffer any stutters (or at least no noticeable stutters) unluckly they had different gliches (like dvd menu broken or black screen after stop etc).
I still disagree to your point.
Good video render should work well with standard installations, after you can get more by optimization, but the baseline have to be reached without big system optimization , like other players do (mc7, mpc-hc- vlc etc).
if Developers would follow your way to get MP working ok, they could suggest to use a 8 core 4. GHZ CPus with 32gb of ram and rack of ssd disks......
    that is Hardware optimization :)

for example to me is not a acceptable if i should disable cool and quite to get a smooth MKV on MP, first because many other player can manage to be smooth with C&q active, second i don't want waste energy that i could save.

When Mp will be able to reach the baseline, we could start talking about optimizations :)

Re: AW: Re: MP1 EVR Presenter/dshowhelper community development

I noticed that I have more stutter after standby..

    Same here.
Did take me a long time to find it out.

More stutter compared to which older version of dshowhelper?

    Tony

    no, generally...

    I mean the same dshowhelper...

with 55 after standby I have more stutter than 55 before standby..same thing with the other dshowhelper (87 - 86 ...), and maybe the standby could be the cause of black screen when I start a movie or when I stop it.

    in the wiki I found:

    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...on/12_General_1.2.0/5_Start_Resume_Settings_*

Restart MediaPortal on resume (Default: off)
This will prevent stuttering playback with nVidia video cards.

but I don't like it so much.. maybe is it time to change vga?

As a comparison, attached is v0088a with the DWM setup code disabled (so this is more like how the v0055x versions behave).

Tell me if you prefer v0088a or v0088 ?

when I try a new dshowhelper, first of all, I try always the same 2-3 movie before and after standy so I can compare the result with the other dshowhelper...

In my small test v0088a seems the best one that I tried on my system, better then 55.. one think that I noticed that with v0088a on 25fps @ 50hz I have more repeated frame than droped, but I cannot compare it with v55 (because v55 have not rp information)...

what does LT and DL mean ?

    thx

So I can compare, can you post a evr.log and screen captures when subtitles are not enabled please ?

    Thanks,

    Tony

(and LT = late frames, DL = delayed render. They are mostly for my benefit, occasionally frames or the render slot are late - dshowhelper tries to workaround this and present frames instead of dropping them - when this happens the numbers are incremented.)
