CypherMK and cecet23 - questions about the stuttering :

Is it just occasional dropped or repeated frames ?

Is it bursts of stuttering ?

Do the 'Drop:' or 'Rp:' numbers on the render stats increase when it stutters ?

Does it happen on everything, or just some types of movie files/TV ?

(and a screen capture of the render stats when it stutters would be really useful good )

Hi Owlsroost.

It is just the occasional stutter here and there. It seems to drop a bit more frames in one stutter. Happens more in the movies. But I will post a screenshot when I have the time.

i get BSOD on my ion system when i use the 87 one, and no logfiles of whats going on.
anyone else getting this? .86 i get the ocasional stutter but i have never before got a BSOD by changing dshow helper....

Can you tell me when it happens - at start of play, when it stops, during play etc ?

What does it say on the BSOD screen ?

Do you have subtitles enabled ?

As far as I know, applications can't trigger BSOD's - it's only hardware/drivers that can do that (but it's possible for bugs in drivers to be triggered by applications, of course.....)

Hello Tony yes subitles are enabled for me, and the blue dump happens sporadicly.
im gonna sit down and test it a bit more during the day and se if i can hit the blue dump and figure out what is going on.

will get back to you on this asap. (hope it gets triggered soon)

v87 works better then 86 (less stutter), but I have sometimes a black screen when I start to play a movie.. I will try it better..

In case the crashing problem is because of changes to the subtitle timing in v0087, attached is v0088 with a rework of that part of the code (it's now basically hybrid of v0086 & v0087).

You can remove the "auto reboot" after a blue screen, so you will see easily what the problem was. Also check for a minidump or a full dump with windbg so you can get the exe/dll/driver name that caused the issue.

just in case you like to read by a user interface without installing all the MS SDK and other unuseful stuffs, may i suggest to read the dumps this very simple but awesome free software Blue screen of death (STOP error) information in dump files.
