Re: AW: MP1 EVR Presenter/dshowhelper community development

@mrmojo666: Framerate at 40 FPS and TV wants 50, that is the Reason for stuttering. Try another Codec, it seems like DXVA is not working...

i want to make it clear: the original 1.2a and v65 and the old 37 work like a charm, so no codec problem, no driver no vga problem......... ;) and that 40 fps and stutter is not forever just after some times and it come and goes.

So please don't misunderstand my tests ;)

I know the most use of this new renderer will be for users with non-matching displays, but wanted to share my test anyway:

I had my Nvidia based laptop running Live TV(SD DVB-T) on WLAN all night (not using RTSP!) and I only had 16 framedrops out of more than 1,2 million frames rendered. This is on v65 of the dshowhelper.

Pretty good I think, and the little framedrop was as far as I can tell, caused by three discontinuities in the reception.

Today (while I', at work) I'm testing it on an ATI based system, which sometimes had big trouble with v66 - it would play one recording perfectly and then the next might stutter, sometimes it can be fixed by going -15 sec, sometimes not. No clear pattern.

Anyways, thanks for the big effort to all of you!

Thanks for all the feedback everyone :)

Please can anyone else who has tried both v0065 and v0066 provide feedback - I'd like to know which version works better in your systems.

I didn't do enough tests to be able to say what's better... v65 started to behave badly as I told you some posts ago, after 90 of watching livetv HD... But I haven't been able to do same long test with v66. Also I haven't done enough tests changing refreshrates... I did some yesterday with v66, I didn't see any problem (from h264 24p w/DTS to livetv SD/HD PAL 50fps).

    bye!

Im still on v65. This one works well, with the exception of the audio delay Im seeing. It seems to vary per mediatype. Could it have to do with my xonar (DTS-live)?
Havent had a chance of updating to v66. Will do this and report back when I do.

    Hi edterbak!

i 'm not experiencing any audio delay, my config is quite similar to yours (i mean cpu and vga), but i use ffdshow audio to decode dts steams (libdts codec in ffdshow audio) and i'm using the onboard audiocard connected to a logitech 5.1 analog kit. So your delay could be related to xsonar DTS decoding. ;)

I'm using 0065, so far perfect (ATI 5670)

on my system is the same

    ouch...

again also with the v65... :(

after some time of watching and zapping tv, frames went mad ... bad stutter :(

    finally the log ;)

    Thank you

PS: using the original mp 1.2alpha ( i think it is the v37 or something similar) i wasn't having any stutter issues since the day of release
