AW: MP1 EVR Presenter/dshowhelper community development

Hi there,

OK, with the v055b and 069 I have no more audiosynch Issues. With the inbuild dshowhelper.dll from MP 1.1.3 there are still present. That is the primary Problem i have.

So I think i´ll happy with this new dll..:D:D

Keep up your good works

Harald

    Tony,

I was trying to be clever and helpful by only giving you the info at the point the issue happened - apologises.

I have attached full EVR log and Mediaportal log from the point I chose ITV HD from the EPG upto a point after the dropped frame issue kicks in.

About 15 frames are dropped during the inital channel switch/stabilisation, then the channel displays fine for a while (no dropped frames), then the issue kicks in (dropped frames), after a while I stopped.

    Many thanks,

    J.

    Hi Jay,

I've no real idea why you are having problems (on a powerful PC), but could you try the attached version - v0070 - which has reduced CPU load (in exchange for increased timing jitter, so the graphs have more ripples) - just in case it helps ?

    Tony

This version requires 'Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package' to be installed.

If you are using the MP AudioRenderer you must use the modified version from this post - https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/707555-post675.html - otherwise MP will crash...

    Hi Tony,

I tried v55b last night - no noticable stutters on ITV HD, but still occasional frame drops (but no where near as many as v69) - I think I got about 500 drops in 200000 drawn (still a few drops though).

    I will give v70 a try tonight.

    Many thanks,

    J.

I didnt have major problems with v69, but tested v70 anyway for ya.

Indeed the lines are significantly less flat compared to v69. But I also see no difference in number of dropped frames. For me v69 is better it seems (judging on the graph), but I cannot see a noticable/clear difference to v70. I did have the feeling the tuning in HDTV and starting a stream was faster in V70.
Besides this I got the feeling the slight audio delay I am rarely experiencing now, was a little less with v70. All VERY subjective ofcourse. :)

    Thanks for the feedback.

Other than lower CPU load (and more ripples in the graphs) it should behave the same as v0069 - at least that was the idea :)

    Hello!
To give some short feedback. I tested v0069 and it works perfect for me. Although I only tested 23.976 material. Lines are always as flat as they could be. Thanks for your continuous work and development!!

    Hello Tony,

after some days without noticeable issues using v67 :) , yesterday night i've tested the v70.

Good news are that i didn't notice any crazy stuttering or low framerates as i had with v68 etc. :)

what i saw is that: on hdtv i have flat lines just when there aren't faster movements in the video, but when there are panning or big movements on the screen the lines start to be less flatter...it sounds to me as a not really strong reliability of the sinc, differently on v67 all is almost flat in all kind of situation ;)
anyway all is smooth, no stutter at all

then on 24p bd material....... the situation is very strange from my point of view......
movie still very smooth but the lines are really going up and down all the time......

this doesn't occour with v67, that are perfectly flat also with 24p. really i can't undertand how the v70 manage to be smooth with all the lines going up and down.

other little thing that i can't understand:
on 24p material both v67 and v70 diplay on osd "Rptd FPS 47.852" and "Detd FPS 23.976" , on 50i HDTV "Rptd FPS 50.000" and "Detd FPS 50.000".

    is that correct?
on 24p should Rptd be the same as Detd ? as is on HDTV ?

thank you for your work i really appreciate it :)

Might sound silly, but to me this comes across as a de-interlacing problem. What ATI version are you using. 11.2? And what are the de-interlacing settings within CCC set to? Vector Adaptive? Is pulldown detection checked?
Reason Im thinking this way is if its a renderer thing, the content shouldnt have an influence. If it is working with slow images it should be with fast movements as well. ...
Hope this makes some sense (to someone ) :)
