    Hi,

    I have set up a new HTPC with Windows 10 and MP 1.13. See HTPC 2 in my system specs. When changing during live TV to the channel stored on channel no. 8 directly via the button '8' on the remote control, first nothing happens. After trying this for the second time live TV freezes. The freeze eventually will go away after one hour or so. But no one wants to wait that long. So I need to kill MP1 process in task manager and restart MP1. See attached logs where I go into Live TV select channel no. 8 twice and then kill MP1 via task manager. It seems to happen only with this channel number.

    Any advice?

    Cheers

    Since my report above I have replaced the new Cine S2 V7 TV card by a Cine S2 V6.5 because tuner 2 of the V7 does not work. During channel scan I get 'Nothing found' on all channels. I am in contact with Digital Devices.

    Edit: Same problem with the V6.5 card but both tuners work. Did a channel scan on both tuners.

    If still using MP 1.13 on HTPC 2, please make sure you install the patch from here:
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...s-available-bin-to-test-in-first-post.133166/

    If you've already installed the patch and/or it doesn't help...

    As far as I can see, channel number 8 (by index) is "RTL2". Is that correct?
    If it is correct, it's very strange... because RTL2 seems to be a radio channel... but you are viewing TV, right?

    Can you please provide log files showing only what happens when you try to select channel 8 once.

    Actually, more questions...
    How many TV channel groups do you have?
    If you have only one (the "all channels" group), is the problem solved if you untick the "hide 'all channels' group" setting (as shown here)?

    [edit: To be clear, currently I'm thinking that you may have copied the MediaPortal configuration from HTPC1 to HTPC2. That can be a problem when the TV Servers are different (which they are) and the same channels and/or channel groups (eg. "Deutsche Fernsehsender") are not available.]

    One last thing: please can you use the import/export section in TV Server configuration to export all your TV channels, TV groups, radio stations and radio groups. Zip and attach the export file here. Thanks. :)

    I updated HTPC 2 to 1.14 Pre-Release after the problem persisted. Is that o.k.? Still same problem. Channel No. 8 is RTL2 (TV). Will post logs as soon as I have control over the TV (usually wife has :D ).

    There is the 'All Channels' group and a self-defined 'Deutsche Fernsehprogramme'. 'All Channels' is hidden by setting in MP Configuration. Need to check by unticking when ... see above (wife control).

    Indeed I did export channels and channel groups from HTPC 1 and imported to HTPC 2 after I manually added the group 'Deutsche Fernsehsender' and 'Deutsche Radiosender' to HTPC 2. Just like the WIKI says.

    Will do ... wife and so on ... you know :D

    Ok, here are logs and the channel export file(s) -> MP 1.14 Pre-Release.

    'MediaPortalLogs_28_02_16__20_12 - Channel 8 selected once.zip' was generated by MP started by Watchdog. Selected TV and choose channel 8 by using remote button '8'.

    'MediaPortalLogs_28_02_16__20_16 - All Channels visible.zip' was generated by MP started by Watchdog. All Channels option in MP Configuration was unticked. Selected TV and choose channel 8 by using remote button '8'.

    For both actions after pressing '8' TV did not switch to channel 8 instead the currently watched channel (2, ZDF HD) was frozen when selecting stop button. Taskmanager did not show up long enough to select MP Task to kill. I had to do the 'Shift + Enter' to make MP windowed and then I could close the window (and MP).

    'export 20160228-2022' contains the TV and Radio channel and groups export file I used to import to HTPC 2 (import in.xml) and the export file from HTPC 2 from some minutes ago (export out.xml).

    Hope this helps.

    From what you have written above it looks like I should delete the TV database and make a fresh channel scan and a fresh TV and Radio group.

    Cheers

    Thanks for the log files and info. (y)

    I updated HTPC 2 to 1.14 Pre-Release after the problem persisted. Is that o.k.?
    Yes, that's fine.

    Channel No. 8 is RTL2 (TV).
    According to the export, you have two "RTL2" channels - one is TV and the other is radio.
    From the log files, my guess is that MP is getting confused by them.

    To explain in a little more detail...

    When you press "8", the log files show:
    [2016-02-28 20:11:01,048] [Log ] [MPMain ] [DEBUG] - UpdateOSD()
    [2016-02-28 20:11:01,051] [Log ] [MPMain ] [DEBUG] - Window: TvPlugin.TvZapOsd init
    [2016-02-28 20:11:01,053] [Log ] [MPMain ] [DEBUG] - zaposd pageload
    [2016-02-28 20:11:01,091] [Log ] [MPMain ] [DEBUG] - ZAP OSD:ON
    [2016-02-28 20:11:02,064] [Log ] [MPMain ] [DEBUG] - ChangeChannelNr()
    [2016-02-28 20:11:02,068] [Log ] [MPMain ] [DEBUG] - ChannelNavigator.ZapToChannel RTL2 - zapdelay False
    [2016-02-28 20:11:02,071] [Log ] [MPMain ] [DEBUG] - UpdateOSD()

    So I can see that channel 8 is "RTL2", but it isn't clear if it's the channel is TV or radio.
    A few seconds later I see:
    [2016-02-28 20:11:10,444] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - Channel change:RTL2
    [2016-02-28 20:11:10,446] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - TVHome.ViewChannelAndCheck(): View channel=RTL2
    [2016-02-28 20:11:10,548] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - TexturePacker: Loaded C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Cache\Titan\packedgfx21.png texture:2048x2048 miplevels:1
    [2016-02-28 20:11:10,550] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - TexturePacker: fontengine add texure:1982
    [2016-02-28 20:11:10,553] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - send message to fullscreen tv
    [2016-02-28 20:11:10,556] [Log ] [MPMain ] [DEBUG] - ZAP OSD:Off timeout

    So, it looks like you're trying to select the RTL2 TV channel. However on the TV Server side, the same request is selecting the radio channel:
    [2016-02-28 20:11:10,448] [Log ] [19 ] [INFO ] - Controller: find free card for channel RTL2

    I don't know how that is possible... but that's what is happening. I suspect the cause is something related to the export + import that you did when you installed HTPC2. From what you said, it sounds like you did everything right... but something still seems to have been messed up.

    From what you have written above it looks like I should delete the TV database and make a fresh channel scan and a fresh TV and Radio group.
    Yes, I think that would be guaranteed to solve the problem. However there may be a simpler way too.

    I think the problem would also be solved if you deleted both RTL2 channels from all TV and radio channel groups (both "All Channels" and "Deutsche ...sender"), then re-added it afterwards.

    O.k., to be very sure, I went ahead and deleted the TV database via the 'SetupTv.exe /delete-db' command. After a full scan I noticed there is a radio channel called RTL2 in the All Channels list of the radio part. It has the same name as the TV channel. But it was never in my custom radio channels list. Changing channels in TV now works as expected. I can change channels up/down and directly via number.

    The only culprit is that the scan only found 976 TV channels while HTPC 1 has 1520. That is a problem ('No signal' on some transponders) I have since upgrading to 1.12 but maybe a coincidence and a different story. I need to tune the missing channels manually. They are there. But that was the main motivation to copy the export.xml from HTPC 1 to HTPC 2.

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Problem solved.
