    I have not yet had the time to test it at my side. Server-wise I am on 2.2.1 so I will first take a look at the behavior with that version.

    The same happens with Server 2.2.1.

    @henso, this is pretty weird. I tested with just one album of the artist "Anderson .Paak" with 11 tracks. Tagging is correct, i.e. the 11 tracks have identical artist and album artist content. Yet when read in, filter "Artist" or "Album Artist" both show eight (8) entries for "Anderson .Paak". Other filters, e.g. "Album" display correctly. I wonder if the dot is misleading the importer in any way.

    Rather than analyzing my log I suggest that azzaro's download link is shared with you for you to get a first-hand impression.

    P.S.: Jira MP2-813 assigned to @henso

    @HTPCSourcer @azzuro
    I investigates the issue and found that the files are tagged wrong. The artist MusicBrainz ID is correct in all of them but 7 of them have an additional artist MusicBrainz ID that is wrong e.g. "Come Home" is tagged with the MusicBrainz artist ID: "d02dd67e-f655-4600-bc47-f789f59e7367; f563a1a9-069b-41ed-8b3b-e1b1a6f5b34b".
    d02dd67e-f655-4600-bc47-f789f59e7367 is the ID of Anderson .Paak
    f563a1a9-069b-41ed-8b3b-e1b1a6f5b34b is the ID of Andre 3000.
    Because MP2 does not support multiple ID's for the same source (MusicBrainz) it will compare the 2 artists and find that they are different as they have different MusicBrainz ID's.

    A very thorough analysis and convincing diagnosis!

    So in summary there is no MP2 problem. I will mark the thread and Jira accordingly.

    No you tagged the files wrong. MP2 uses all the artist ID's it got from the file tags (not online) when comparing artists.

    I am not sure if I understand. The artist info is the same in all files. The respective id id generated by MP2. Where are the multiple ones coming from?

    I use picard musicbrainz for tagging.
    I will check if i have different id on musicbrainz node.
