If you do a client/server installation how do you setup a client TV that uses an xbox media extender? Thanks

I don't know what is an xbox media extender, but to our MP2 TV-Server can be currently connected only an MP2 client. So, to be able to view TV in MP2 you have to install both MP2 components (client and server) and view TV with the MP2 client.

Thanks for your reply. I guess my basic question is how do you connect a regular TV (Samsung HD TV) to a client/server pc installation? MP1 has client configuration settings but I did not see it in MP2. The xbox media extender is just an xbox 360 that goes between the server and the TV. It connects to the router and has an hdmi connection for the TV.

Most people do it by connecting the TV via HDMI with the PC. The TV acts then as it would be an PC-display.

In MP2 there is no need for an extra config tool/app, every setting can be accessed in the client GUI. Just enter the settings menu in the MP2 client and you can add shares, change skins, setup codecs, etc.

Do you need a separate PC for every client TV you want to setup? I want to watch TV on my PC but also on an another TV. I am using a 6 tuner Ceton ETH tuner. Thanks

Is it possible to directly connect a client TV to the MP2 server using an Ethernet to HDMI adapter?

I'm sure, that this adapter can technically not exist.
The previous question I do not understand fully. If you have a 6 tuner server and want to watch 2 programs at the same time it can be done with one client I think, because of MP2s PiP function. In case you want to watch both programs in fullscreen, you need two clients. But I'm not sure, if that is really what you want to do.

I am wondering how to connect 2 client TVs to an MP2 client/server PC? The Ceton tuner connects to the network through the router. Does MP2 server automatically configure a client TV connected to the network? Thanks

I don't use MP2, but I think it is the case that each client TV has to connect to its own Windows PC via HDMI, and then each client Windows PC connects to another Windows PC that is acting as the TV Server. So you need one Windows PC for each TV. I don't think that an XBOX can be used to replace a Windows PC.

Thank you for your reply. That's good to know. I guess I can just use a set top box for the regular TV and use MP2 for my PC.

Ok, so perhaps a solution, but not the "right" solution. On the client, within media portal configuration, under TV settings, advanced options, I switched to UNC paths instead of the default RSS, and it's working very well. Sure I had to figure out the paths, but no big deal. Maybe helpful for someone in the future. Thanks for the...

Thanks for the response. No change. No MP2 in APPs (the Win 11 version of Programs) There was an empty MP2-Server folder under Team Media Portal in PF X86.
