(edit)
to install:
- instazll compact framework 2.0 if not yet installed on your PPC
- copy the server MPBlue.dll to the plugin/process folder AND into the root of Mediaportal
- copy the client along with the skin to the pocketPC.
- run the setup on both client and server, make sure that the port is equal on both the client and server.
Zeta, I did not yet look into the artists issue.. but I was hoping that You might recheck this using the new feature in MP for scanning folders (ie, treat each folder as an album or something like that..)
whats new:
- not much
- completely rewritten skin engine
- the server has a setup page now
Ok, downloaded the new version, installed server on rc3, installed client on my ppc, I can't get the client to open up. Old client opens fine (in a renamed folder), but doesn't seem to talk efficiently with new server. Is there anything differently I need to setup to have the client work on my ppc?
hey mrsensistive! thanks for all the hard work your putting into this - i've just got an imate jamin pocketpc running wm2005 and i'm really looking forward to getting mpblue up and running on this.
i had the last version working ok - except for the bugs with the play button and rc4.
i just put on this latest release - installed .net cf 2 along the way - and now i'm getting an error when i try to do anything in mpBlue
if i go to "controls", and click a button - this is the error i get:
"an unexpected error has occured in MPBluePocket.exe. Select Quit and then restart this program, or select Details for more information.
An error message cannot be displayed because an optional resource assembly containing it cannot be found."
if i click 'details', i get:
"MPBluePocket.exe
WebException
An error message cannot be displayed because an optional resource assembly containing it cannot be found

except each of those ) is actually startbracket then ), but my keyboard is stuffed at the moment
try resetting the port in the MPBlue server configuration screen
(using Mediaportals configuation app, rightclick the MPBlue plugin and select configure. the port there should be set to whatever is being set in the client.
in other words, both the client and the server have a setup function now..
I just realised that i set it to a random value to test the setup screen... :?
I've been apologising for a lot of things lately..
ok - i'm trying that, but it's been sitting with the 'thinking' icon for the last 5 minutes. my music library's not that big, in the last version it only took maybe 20 seconds at this screen.
