    Hi egonspengleruk!

This would be really great - this plugin must not die! Perhaps it's gonna be adapted to the planned uniform remote interface I read of somewhere in the forum.

    Keep up the good work!

    cheers, Michael

Ok, questions for the group here. First off, when did MP lose visualizations in music? I was playing around this morning and I noticed wmp isn't an options and there aren't any visualizations available. I'm on 0.2.1.0.

MrSensitive, I realize you are busy, but did you make any changes following our previous conversations about MPBlue locking up when the ppc goes into standby? You said that you might have found what was causing this.

Anyway, I'm going to hunt through the forums to see if I can figure out what became of visualizations and if there's a way to get them back. I think there were still there in 0.2.0.0. Also, it might be worthwhile if different developers are getting into the fray to list existing bugs and feature requests with MPBlue. For instance:

Now playing stops responding when ppc goes into standby
Now playing does not work when Mp has full screen visualizations (assuming they come back)
there are issues in the music database with files that have no album name (workaround is to give all these files a common album name, I use zzz to keep them uncluttered)
does anyone know a shortcut key for "shuffle" or "randomize"
I don't recall if MPBlue was able to read playlists on the MP computer
Also, I haven't seen if there are issues if the MP computer goes into standby (vs the ppc)

Anyway, I'm always available as a tester. Keep up the good work guys.

Ok, reloaded 0.2.0.0, threw on the 12-15 svn, had to manually set audio to use Bass player and select my sound card (got nothing if default was selected, and this resets every time I go into settings, weird) but end result is I now have visualizations again and more importantly, the now playing screen of mpblue updates even when visualizations are fullscreen. In the 0.2.0.0 version (pre 0.2.1.0 or any svn's) Now playing would stop updating when visualizations were fullscreen.

Now, only major headache is the loss of connection when my pda goes into standby.

Oh, and a couple other MP plugins not quite working, mysoduko and myrecipes seem screwed. working on it.

    Release 0.0.5 is here..
go to the last page for the description

    how to install:
copy server/mpblue.dll to the plugins\process folder AND to the Mediaportal root folder, I still have to figure out how to avoid this..

copy the contents of client to a location on your PDA (if it is PocketPC 2002, you have to install the Compact framework also)
future versions will include a installer..

BEFORE PRESSING ANY BUTTONS: start the setup using the Settings button

IP adress: the Ip Address of your mediaportal box
port: should be left on 9000 still hardcoded in the server

for the music browser to work, the Mediaportal music database must be populated.
after selecting an artist, the client will fetch the albums of that artist selecting an album, and tha tapping an holding will launch a context sensitive menu

    download it here https://www.team-mediaportal.com/files/Download/Plugins/Others/MPBluePPCclient/

"SideShow-Enabled Remotes, Cellphones, Laptops, Speakers, More
I'm a big fan of SideShow, the Microsoft technology that allows little bits of data from a Windows Vista PC to be accessed from a lightweight display, even while the computer is off or hibernating.

Outlook contacts, automation menus, playlists, electronic programming guides, and all sorts of other "gadgets" can be viewed from a little SideShow device—without having to boot up the computer.

At CES, we saw an impressive array of SideShow devices in various form factors from a computer bag to a mobile phone.

    - i-mate mobile phone
    - i-mate digital picture frame
    - Eleksen computer bag (coolest product at the show)
    - Logitech speakers (a close second)
    - Tiny companion LCDs based on nVidia's Preface platform
    - Laptops with auxiliary displays from ASUS and LG
    - Univeral remotes from Ricavision, Philips, Ricavision, Interlink, Topseed and SMK
    - SideShow home automation application from Lagotek

Most of the SideShow products on display at CES are expected to be released in the first or second quarter of 2007.

It is up to the application provider to develop their own "gadgets" for accessing via a SideShow device.

Windows Vista ships with two gadgets: Windows Media Player and Windows Mail. Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 includes a Calendar gadget as well. Microsoft plans to release additional gadgets including E-mail and Contacts, RSS feed viewer, picture viewer, stocks, gadgets for Windows Media Center, and gadgets for PowerPoint.
