Great stuff!!! Works a lot faster than before.

One question (for now )
Is there a way to change the used Date view? I use MPDisplay++ on a Zalman HD160XT Plus --> 7'' touchscreen. The date of today is viewed as "Zaterdag januari 14". Because there is no room for the 4 in 14, I cannot see it. For me the "Zaterdag" (Saturday) does not have to be displayed.
I took a quick look at the xml's but got a bit lost.

Hi,

You can simply change this by open MP configuration, go to plugins, home, and change the way you like to show up the date.. There are serveral options availible.

Note: this wil change (ofcourse) not only the date setting in mpd extended but also in Mediaportal itself.. As far as Inknow there is no posibility to change it only for mpd extended. Maybe this is a nice thing for the future!

Hello,

I test this plugin and I have found my first serious bug : it make completely crash MP at resume. I join my logs. I wait before post them to make more tests but without this plugin I never had any crash, I allow it again and crash reappear at every computer resume. (FYI I don't used the touch screen after resume, only remote)

MPD extended is now not only for seconds display's anymore but also compatible for other devices.. I think that this is a very good thing! But for users with a small second screen like I have (7") the things on the display or not always good to read from a bigger distance; let's say; from my couch (3 mtrs) I like to see that things are good to read.. Things like; program information, the resolution of a movie, etc..

Well, I also have a 7'' Touchscreen that is even more than 3 meters away and I find the icons even too big and the font is just right.
Could be even smaller for me to get more information

I didn't say anything about the icons.. Those are fine.. It's just the text of some labels (not all of them) that is a little bit small.. I can read it, but there is anough space to make them a litle bit bigger..

I must be doing something wrong, but don't seem to be able to use MPDisplay 0.7.0.0 together with MP 1.2.2. I can start MPDisplay++ and it appears on my case LCD, but as soon as I start MP and the plugins are loaded, the case LCD goes black. Plugin is enabled in MP config.

What could be wrong?

Why are you starting MPD++ before MP? Just start MP and it will load with starting Plugins.
If this isn't working, set MP and MPD++ to run as administrator. And check if in the MPD++ Config the path to the exe is set right.

It was the path to the executable. MPD seems to assume an x64 install whereas I have x86. All is working now.

I really like the idea of this plugin, but I'm having some trouble setting it up.
Setup that I'm trying to get is: HTPC with Mediaportal > Laptop with MPdisplay plugin.

Could not find any info about setting up the plugin for a second pc (like in: not on a secondary display). But thats probably due to the fact that it's in the Alpha phase.

Attached are my config/setup screens. The HTPC is setup only for a network monitor and the laptop is setup the connect to IP 192.168.1.6 (ip of my HTPC) through port 44444.
Both systems have MP 1.2.2 installed, did not know if MP had to be installed on the laptop but did not see an other way to install the plugin.

When I start MPdisplay++ on my laptop, when the HTPC is already running MP, I get an error (see attachment) and the screen stays black.
I didn't get this error when I first started it, but I did not yet configured it, after running "MPdisplayconfig" I got this error no matter what.


Am I overlooking something or is this related to a know bug? (could not find roadmap.txt on your website, MP website, MP forum or install directory)

Hi Erik070,

you have to install the Full Installation on the HTPC and a partially Install on the Laptop.

As I can see on the Picture the Setup on the HTPC is correct.
On the Laptop you only have to change the Button "Is Local". It has to be unchecked.
The IP Adress can also be the Name of the HTPC.

And check if the Port is not blocked from your firewall on the HTPC.
