My Hero - using MP for years now and never ever had a look in the Home Plugin ... Wahnsinn ...

Working great so far - a basic question: I sit possible to have a "generic" view when you enter a plugin not included in your Skin (in my case MyAnime for example). So you always get a List view of teh items - or coverflow or whatever? Probably so you can select over the setup (like in the skinsetup) where you get a list of plugins availible and what to show there (ok - might be nonsense at all)

Hi pur_berger,

just open the WindowManager.xml in you MPD++ Skin folder: C:\ProgramData\MPDisplay++\Skin\YOURSKIN\WindowManager.xml
scroll down to the Windows Visibility Entries...
Add the following line:
<entry name="MPWindowID.Is##">10</entry>
## has to be the WinID of myAnime

Would you be able to test a patch for XP, None of our Dev team has an XP install.

Just replace the file in the .rar below (backup old ones first)

MPDPlugin.dll > X:\Programe files\Team Mediaportal\Mediaportal\plugins\process\
MPDisplayConfig.exe > X:\Programe files\Team Mediaportal\MPDisplay++\MPDisplayGUI\

Patch seems to work OK.

When I enter the configuration the plugin now has "remembered" the selected monitor and immediately starts on the right monitor.

Original version always "forgot" the formerly selected monitor when the configuration was entered again, even when the xml-file was manually corrected before.

Anything more I shall test with the patch?

Hi Popy,

Try setting the MPDisplay++.exe and MediaPortal.exe to run as administrator. Win7 is pretty picky on what programs other programs can start.

Did you find time to think about my second issue:

Also with the old MPD2 i had the problem that if my secondary screen (where MPD is on) is switched on later then the HTPC (which occurs on timed recordings ...), MPD++ will be shown on the main screen behind MP and not on the configured screen.

As a workaround for the old MPD2 i have written a little autoit script which checks or/and sets the position of MPD main window.
Ill think gdl has made a repositioning-patch for the old MPD2 in the past.

What do you mean about this?

Doesn't change anything - Main window stay empty. what does "10" stand for?

10 is the Window for Classic Homescreen, just a big ListControl. Was a try if it works because I don't have MyAnime. I don't know how it looks like and how it works. This week I can't test so much because im on a Seminar and the WLan Network seems to have some big Problems. I'm surfing right now over my smartphone, but it don't last's long (only 200MB with HSDPA, more than the half of it is allready gone - Rest will be 3G and thats much to slow)

Hi popy,

MPDisplay GUI should be starting automaticly, try checking the path is correct in the MPDisplay++ config under "Local MPDisplay Path".

If you are using Vista/Win7 you may need to run MP as administrator, This is due to needing "ServiceController" support.

If you could post your logs I can have a look(X:\ProgramData\MPDisplay++\Logs)

hey.

have looked into it and here are the logs.

I have enabled the option to bring MP to front. After disabling this option illsaw that there is an exception on starting MP. So it seems MPD++ gets loaded on MP start and then crashs. If ill start MPD++ before MP all is working fine.

I couldnt see any exceptions in the logs of MPD++ or Mediaportal. Also there is no error.log file of MP.
In the attachment there is also a txt file of eventvwr which shows some errors of mysql ... how to fix those?
Maybe it has something todo with the crash?

I am running MP 1.2.2 on Win7 x64 SP1.

Hey sa,

have found the problem. I had to set a display in config under admin account. now it works.
I have copied out the text of the exception, you can find it in the attachment. Maybe you can find the problem and make a nicer error msgbox

Also in the attachment you can find my dirty dirty autoit script to help mpd2/++ repositioning every 3 seconds.
If anyone use it you have to edit the screen values (x and y). Can you please add the repositioning feature in future versions?

Update after testing a few hours:

No crash or performance issues so far

But the progressbar update (tv/recordings/movies) is not accurate.
Sometimes it does not update over 30 min?!

i am using MPD++ with Dark skin on MP 1.2.2.
My system specs are uptodate.

MyAnime looks like TVseries in the Mainscreen

Is there a list what windows ID is what? For my feeling (with the NoTouch Skin) - wouldn't it make more sense to have a coverflow view instead of selection Buttons like it is now with Video, Music and so on? Well - don't know if coverflow is possible with MPD++
