Is there any fix for this problem already? I think this is a very annoying problem. Not sure if it is a bug of MP or a problem with my videocard. I hope anyone knows a solution. In Mediaplayer classic mpgs play but in MP it doesnt start mpg movies. when clicking on the icon to start it nothing happens.

    Hi,
Just tested an .mpg file & it works fine here with Mpeg2Dec filter & MPEG/AC3/DTS/LPCM/ Audio Decoder in MP 0.2RC2 + latest cvs.

You could try a different setting for Audio Renderer. Directsound: (Your soundcards name)

This is what my log says:

My soundcard setting is changed like you said but still no mpg movies are played or even started to play. Any other ideas? I tried already ever possible filter in combinations and such but without result. Please let someone know what the solution is because it's kinda very annoying...

Have you tried it in Windows Media player 10?

I can reproduce this with changing the “Audio rendererâ€, but that it’s probably my setup & soundcard.
If you open MediaPortal.xml in notepad you can see if it’s look something like this:

    “â€

0

2

5

zoom

yes

DirectSound: Realtek AC97 Audio

1

MPEG/AC3/DTS/LPCM Audio Decoder

Mpeg2Dec Filter

no

    “â€

Or it could be a problem with filters, maybe someone else knows what it is?

    Regards
    Roy

Shouldn't that already be included in Windows XP SP2?

yeah well that is the code it said in the WMP10 help something with dvr-ms or something dont think that is the problem i think the problem is WMP10 extension support it should play mpg movies but in some weird way WMP10 doesnt support my mpg movies. and not 1 of them no all of the mpg movies WMP10 refuses. Does anyone have an idea how to solve the WMP10 problem?

Very weird, can you upload a small file so we can test it?
& list up the codec’s you have installed & versions.
If you installed some elecard codec’s & uninstalled them, you have lost a decoder for mpg…
