Hmm well perhaps the sites just responding slow. Is it always the same site? What is the search term used? Do the logs say anything starting with [mpNZB]? I could maybe put the searching on a different thread that can be canceled if the user feels like its taking to long.

I am currently at work so i cant help know, but i will let you know what i find out. Also i only use newzleech becuase everything else seems to error out.
man i need newzbin :p

Well i am back at work, I looked around and didnt really see what log file you were talking about. I did locate the log file directory but it has about 8-10 files in there. Anyway when i click on pretty much anything but newzleech it comes back and says "Error encountered".

The MediaPortal.log file should have information regarding those errors. Perhaps you could post it on this forum after you've tried it because I don't have issues with these sites. Make sure you have the latest version installed.

Currently no it only works with SABnzbd. The reason is SABnzbd has much more API control and status information. Also SABnzbd is free were as alt.binz is only free for its old 2007 version. I may in the future have an option to just save the NZB's to a folder, then it would work with any client that allows folder monitoring. There would be no Pause/Status/Queue options though.

Interesting, i tried it again and its working, i will keep you posted on the log file if it starts to happen again.

I am just thinking out loud here, and like i said i am new to mediaportal. Is there a way or is this more of the tv series thing to have a list of the newly downloaded shows for playback? instead of just having to know what you downloaded and looking it up via tvseries.

Well using SABnzbd you can save to different folders and you could look at that folder. Also once SABnzbd 0.5 comes out I will redo the API to have a "Download History" view that will be supported in there new API.

Great stuff! Extremely useful plugin. I just found it and started testing and it works just fine.

Some suggestions for the next version:

Add options to the custom searches to only display results that :

* have been posted < x days
* have a filesize > x MB

This would enable me to search for the lastest TV Series in 720p format for example

OR alternatively modify the missing series functionality to do broader searches with the same options listed above but taking into account less specific name searches so it finds alternative naming conventions as well for the same episode.

I will look into that, it may be hard to implement in all search engines but for Newzbin I think I can specify those things. I may make a section in Sites.XML where you can make up your own questions and fill them into the search URL. That way you can specify anything you want on the fly.

The MyTVSeries idea would be tougher and would require the user to do lots of typing. If you have an idea on how to best implement something like that, please post it here.

I think in <search> I will add a area called <specify> something like this:

HTML:
<search>
    <url>http://www.newzbin.com/search/query/?q=[QUERY]&u_post_larger_than=[1]&searchaction=Search&u_post_results_amt=[MAX]&feed=rss</url>
    <specify id="1" prompt="Find files larger than?" default="700" />
</search>

This is just an idea at the moment. But it would work I think and could be different for each site.
