This patch adds support for the following languages / character sets in Teletext:
Polish, Turkish, Serbian, Croatian, Slovenian, Romanian, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Russian, Bulgarian, Ukranian, Greek. Arabic and Hebrew has not yet been implemented because I was unable to map the characters specified in the ETSI document to their Unicode counterparts (if anyone can help post here).
Right now you can only select the language globally and not on a per channel base.

Also fixes the pink outline that appears around characters in transparent mode when font smoothing or cleartype is enabled in windows.

It is based on MP 1.0.2 (rev 22555) and works for both TVServer/Client and the old tv engine (TVE2). Supports Blue3 and Blue3wide skins. There is also the old version based on 1.0.1 - SVN 22244.

    3-6-2009:
    1. Fixed language options to show all supported languages for each option
    2. The binary version of the 1.0.2 patch had some files from the 1.0.1 version. Fixed.
    3. Split the patch in two files because TortoiseSVN creates an invalid patch file if it contains changes from files with different encodings (now one file contains changes to ANSI encoded files and the other UTF8 encoded files)

    14-5-2009:
Updated patch for MP 1.0.2 (rev 22555).

    Installation:
    1. Make a backup of your MP installation directory (normally C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal)
2a. For TVE2 extract all files in the zip except TvPlugin.dll over your MP installation directory
2b. For TVServer / Client extract all files in the zip over your MP installation directory
    3. Run Configuration and select you language. You may also select font quality (use no smoothing and no hinting for slow machines)

If you find any bugs or problems while using this patch, please try without the patch before reporting. If the bug or problem is related or caused by this patch, please report it on this thread not in the MP bug report forum.

    Hi Nikos,
If you are using TVServer / Client you can skip copying TVCapture.dll, WindowPlugins.dll and Configuration.exe (instead you can use those from MPC-HC subtitle engine patch). You can still change the teletext language from within MP (Language button in windowed mode, context menu in full screen). If this is your case, please test and report back.

For TVE2 I will have to merge the two patches (it will take some time).

    Hi Arion_p,

Can you please update your patch with the new version of Mp??
Also would be good if you sent your patch to the devs so they can add it on next release.

    Thank you very much
    Nikos

Updated the patch for MP 1.0.2.
I have not yet merged it with MPC-HC subtitle engine. I will as soon as I get some time to test it.
Also submitted patch to patch queue.
    ;)

Is there possible to add support for Estonian characters as well and what information I have to provide? There are problems with äöõ characters.

I forgot one letter - ü. So there are 4 special letters in Estonian language - aöüõ.

I had another look at it, and it seems I have already included support for Estonian, it just isn't mentioned in the options. Estonian, Lettish and Lithuanian are supported by the same option: Cyrillic.

I know those languages are not Cyrillic, but in the teletext standard they are in the same group as Cyrillic. Each option in the teletext language selection menu is actually one such group supporting up to 7 different languages.

Can you please try using cyrilic as the teletext language and report back.
In the mean time I will update the patch to show all the languages supported in each group.
