    Do you think you can get the code from the above postet tvplugin.dll
    And make a working solution to FTR?

    Can you please run some more tests:

    1. Without the patch (or with the patch and language set to "Latin: en/de/sv/fi/hu/dk/it/fr/pt/es/cs/sk", i.e. the first option) going to teletext you should see the characters in the first column instead of the characters in the second:
    ¤ --> õ
    É --> Š
    Å --> Ž
    Ü --> Ü
    _ --> Õ
    é --> š
    å --> ž

    If not can you make a complete list (like the one above) of what you see instead of what you should see?

    2. With the patch and language set to Cyrillic: sr/hr/de/et/lv/lt/ru/bg/ukr/cs/sk, do you cyrilic characters or latin. Can you make a list like the one above?

    OK, with language set to Latin (first option):
    δ = ä
    ό = ü
    ¤ = õ
    ϕ = ö
    Δ = Ä
    ¤ = Õ
    ά = Ü

    Cyrillic (5th option):
    δ = ä
    ό = ü
    Ʋ = õ
    ϕ = ö
    Ʋ = Õ
    Δ = Ä
    ά = Ü

    MAXXiM:

    Thanks for testing. In the mean time, trying to help Providers, I realized Visual Studio messed up my source file encoding. Your results are consistent with that. So try using TvPlugin.dll from a few posts above (this post) that has the encoding fixed.

    Report back so that I can update the patch at the top of the thread if all goes well.

    tourettes & dvdfreak:
    I too don't like the fact that 4TR is mostly closed source and I am not willing to invest much of my time for it. I would prefer if dvdfreak would put his effort to improve MP instead of starting another project on top of MP infrastructure, especially a closed source one, but that is his choice. That being said, there are a lot of MP users that like/need 4TR's features and don't really care about open source. So for those users' benefit and IF it is not too much work I will try to provide a version of the patch for 4TR.

    I hope this clears things out and puts an end to hostility that does not belong in this forum.

    All I wanted and still want to do is be constructive and provide this same patch to our users, and any hostility certainly didn't originate on my part.

    But sometimes enough is enough, and it's because this was not an isolated case that I felt the "urge" to express my feelings towards tourettes. As if I wanted to spend my energy knocking on TV server or MP... But enough said! Let's move on to more positive things, perhaps realizing that the single fact that For The Record exists might actually bring more people to MP than without it...

    Thanks, with this dll file are all characters correct (with Cyrillic). But still, how to fix Teletext subtitles then? Is it possible at all?

    Hi arion_p

    Was there any change that you would release the patch so FTR team could make a new binary to the peoble who uses FTR.
    I would love to use your patch :)

    providers, dvdfreak:

    Here's the patch for 4TR for Danish teletext characters. I haven't tried to compile & run but it should work as it is so simple and the base code is direct copy of svn 22555
