    Thanks. You were right - I had the language folder in the wrong location. It's now been moved, I've re-run dllfix and was able to configure NeverMissTV.dll to run NeverMissTV.exe. The problem now is that it's not showing up anywhere in the MP (StreamedMP) menu. I've configured it as "Enabled" and "Listed In Home", but it doesn't show up in either the top-level MP menu or the plug-ins menu.
    ???

    Great, I'm glad that worked out. Regarding your menu issue...

    I will assume that you are using the Streamed MP Basic Home Menu and generating your own menu?

    If so, you will need to create a small xml file in c:\ProgramData\TeamMedia Portal\Mediaportal\skin\StreamedMP that point to your plugin.

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?>
    <window>
    <id>7602</id>
    </window>
    <!--Checksum:7c57c23457c374b0735dbc85be47793d-->

    Replace the 7602 above with the ID that Multishort was assigned (you'll find an ID in mediaportal conig for each multishortcut)

    Once this file is there, you can display the XML in the menu editor and add it.

    Here is a thread (I had the same issue) with more details

    But in short in StreamedMP Basic Home Menu editor...

    1. Add Menu Item >>
    2. Select this new item on the right hand side of 'Items Selected'.
    3. Click on the 'Edit/Add Submenu' button.
    4. Click on Display XML Filenames.
    5. Drag Drop the plugins you want in the submenu e.g. HULU, NetFlix, OnlineVidos etc
    6. Save & Close
    7. Generate

    Good Luck,
    Pete

    Sorry - I'm a little confused! I'm using the default Streamed MP menu (i.e. I've never used the StreamedMP Basic Home Menu editor before).
    If I go to the Settings Wizard from the main MP menu, and complete the 3 steps, I get taken to a menu which DOES contain my NeverMissTV item. This is NOT the menu that gets displayed when I start MP though. If I close MP and restart it I get the original menu back (without the NeverMissTV plugin).

    In MP plugins config, my Home config settings show NeverMissTV in the menu (see attached screenshot). Presumably the menu that displays when I start MP is not this one as it doesn't show NeverMissTV, but how do I configure the menu that is being displayed?

    I tried following your instructions - i.e. created and edited the XML, opened up StreamedMP Basic Home Menu editor, and added NeverMissTV as a sub-menu of TV. This made no difference to my menu however.

    ???

    Unfortunately, I don't have any helpful information on the default streamed mp menu; I am only familiar with the StreamedMP Basic Home Menu. But since you seem willing to try the StreamedMP Basic Home Menu let's work through that issue.

    1 - be sure that in the Mediaportal config, you have "Start with basic homescreen" checked. Basic home should look a lot different than default. So it should be obvious if it is launching with the basic homescreen.

    2- Since you already added the the NeverMissTV.XML as submenu of TV, launch Mediaportal again and look for a little arrow that tells you there is a sub menu. (I missed it the first time). You use the direction pad (not the OK/Select) to pop open the sub menu.

    I attached screenshots.

    Good luck

    "Missing file C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Language\MultiShortcut\strings_en.xml"

    I have double-checked, and the strings_en.xml file definitely exists at that folder location.

    Can anyone help?

    I have a similar problem running MP 1.1.2.0 under WinXP MCE 2005, only the path given in the error message is:
    C:\Programme\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\language\MultiShortcut\strings_en.xml
    ("Programme" instead of "Program Files" because I have a German-langauge OS)
    This surprised me, because I thought all of this stuff was supposed to be under:
    C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\All Users\Anwendungsdaten\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal
    (once again allowing for the path defferences between English & German)
    since MP 1.1.0?!
    Anyway, even after copying the language files into the old location, it still doesn't work.
    I also tried using the Multi-Shortcut Installer referred to in the first post, with the same results.
    Any ideas?

    P.S. Upgraded from 1.1.2 to 1.1.3: config OK now!

    P.P.S. Rejoiced too soon. Config appears to work, but the applications i am trying to launch (MS IE and SereneScreen) don't launch. I'll try reading the doc and doing the setup manually, instead of relying on hte setup/installation tool referenced in the first post.

    Thanks for your help - I can now see it as a submenu of TV - it was the part about using the right arrow, rather than OK/Select, that I was doing wrong.
    Is there any way to add a plug-in like this to the top-level menu? When I try it using the StreamedMP Basic Home Menu I get an error saying that I haven't completed all fields when I click "Add Menu Item" (see attached).

    Can this be updated for MediaPortal 1.2 compatibility? If I had the sources, I would do it myself.

    AW: MultiShortcut plugin

    Hello.
    First I would like to say Thank You. This Plugin helps a lot getting things easier.
    I'm using Win7 32 SP1, MePo 1.1.3 and MultiShortcut 2.3 to start (WOLCMD) and stop (PSShutdown) my NAS.

    I just have a small "cosmetic" issue with it. I can't rename the DLL Files. If I do they don't show up in MePo Config at all. The files has to be named multishortcut00.dll, multishortcut01.dll and so on. In GUI all looks and worked OK, just inside the configuration it doesn't. I've tried to rename them before or after dllfix, run dllfix as admin,... nothing works for me. Also renaming multishortcut00.dll to multishortcut01.dll did not show up. The number at the end of the filename has to be the same as the Value dllfix add...

    The function of the plugins are all perfect, just the "Name" inside MediaPortal Config is not as expected. It's no big deal, but I thought this should work also.

    P.S. I've converted the "doc" to "pdf" as I can't open .doc Files on my HTPC. I think a lot of people have the same problem so maybe you can use the pdf file instead. it's exactly the same content, but in pdf format.
