I have done a limited install of MP 1.32 x64 on another PC and tried the new (ver. 2.7) multi shortcut in that and as far as I can tell on a very quick test it works OK, so it seems the setup on my HTPC with an old version installed in the x86 version is causing the problem. I will try uninstalling the old version in x86 and deleting the old Multishortcut xml then start again with x64, lot of work but hopefully I can still use the skin edits for home screen (DWHD) just update the plugin ID numbers.
I have a good backup in case it all goes wrong!

Yes, normally, with clean install, it should work, I have modified and tested it with MP 1.31 X64.
When I wrote "rename", it was not in the config, it's rename the .dll files inside the plugins folder.
DLLfix is clever enough to find what dll(s) is(are) MultiShortcut(s) or not :
