I was one of the posters in the original thread requesting improvements to the music section. I've really preferred the TV integration and setup options for MediaPortal over XBMC, but was not enjoying the music section. I was getting close to switching back to XBMC, but your commitment to updating it has prompted me to be patient!

I just wanted to say thank you for all your hard work in keeping MediaPortal alive and fresh! I can't wait for 1.2!

This is fantastic news!!! I listen to tons of house/trance and so many are multi-disc albums. I have been waiting for this feature for a long time. Great work team.

:DThis is the good news only. Bugtracker records say's that external player support for foobar and winamp are removed. That is a pitty. Because there is no real good remote app for mediaportal available for a smartphone atm. Winamp & foobar have a lot of remote app's allready. I can turn off the tv and use my smartphone to navigate my music library. Hope that version 1.2.0 support external players. Otherwise I have to quit mediaportal, start winamp/foobar and my remote app, turn tv off & select/listen to music. XBMC remote app for android is leaps ahead atm. Ipimp has potential. maybe I try that...

Still love the good news. Been using mediaportal for a few years now and like the progress in the music departmen:Dt!

Foobar was removed, WinAmp was fixed :)

There is a whole section for web control / smartphone control
WebService and Mobile Access - MediaPortal Forum
might be worth seeing if any of these meet your needs.

Also have a look for one button music. This will allow you to control music in MP without the screen

:)Thank you for fixing winamp. I will read the remote controlling section. Smartphone and tabletcontrolling of Mediaportal is the future. It's looks slick and has more opportunities (streaming, fanart etc)..than a infrared remote control.

Hey Jameson_uk these updates sound great, thanks for all your hard work and input.

On the back of a previous poster's point about forward/backward skip steps in music, I'll second that, and this would also be great to have for radio recordings which atm doesn't work all too well when fast forward/rewinding. Any plans for this?

We just want the moon on a stick, really!

    Many thanks
    Si

Just an added note about Foobar2000 - the reason we removed it from MP was so that it could be developed as an external plugin. Source code is still available on SourceForge

We are really hoping someone will pick it up and develop it as you suggested. Our intent was to make it more accessible for any one to develop, and more frequently, not to eliminate the functionality. So it would be great if you posted a request in the Plugins forum and see if anyone is interested. I sometimes see developers posting there asking what plugins users would most like to see developed, and this one should be easy as much of the code is there already.

Sorry for going a bit off topic here jameson_uk!

Just read this, good to see that music is getting some TLC

Most useful feature for me would be skip steps in music eg, +15,+30,+60,+90 etc. Skip steps for music would have to be seperately definable in music section, because typically music files are shorter in length than videos. I really dislike the current method of x2,x4,x8,x16 etc

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ? Hi. I was probably being a bit fast and loose with my terminology. I meant "somewhere within the files that MP2 uses in its database". Anyway, I found a way to do this which was far from automated but relatively low effort. I found what looked like all the images (CD covers, DVD covers, backgrounds etc all lumped together in...

I currently have two Quatros running, one connect, one duo using OTA antennae, mostly UHF fringe area, mostly cat5 local network. Hauppauge card retired long ago. I have also retired very early SD units, the Quatros seem to work much better than the older units. Go to SD's support website and download and install the windows...

I got a similar error yesterday just when a watched episode ended... Didn't copy the logs unfortunately but now i'm in a weird situation. Trakt website shows that episode as watched, but in onlinevideos (where i watched that episode) it still is not flagged as watched. The watched.json doesn't contain that episode but i think it...
