As I tried to tell you in IRC a couple of days ago :))), the last view type used should be used when re-entering (IIRC)

    as mentioned above.
Use a Database View once and stay with it. MP will always use the last view you had active when leaving the program

It's definitely not the program. Must be you then :))))))

    Look at your mediaportal.xml.
find the music section: search for: name="music"
within the section you should see: startwindow the value needs to be 504, if views are displwayed
and startview contains a value of the view to be used.

change some views within MP and see, if those values in mediaportal.xml get updated.

I have fixed it in mediaportal.xml. There was a string called entry name="rememberlastfolder">no</entry>. I changed that to 'yes' and now it remembers last view as it is supposed to do ;)
It's under the name="music" thing, like hwahrmann said.

Hi. I was probably being a bit fast and loose with my terminology. I meant "somewhere within the files that MP2 uses in its database". Anyway, I found a way to do this which was far from automated but relatively low effort. I found what looked like all the images (CD covers, DVD covers, backgrounds etc all lumped together in...

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ? MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback. If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo. I have...

Fixed, I think. Certainly the vintage MP2 installer that I was using no longer installs the LAV filters. I can only assume that these were never part of the install package itself, but rather downloaded during the install, and that link no longer exists. Shame that the installer doesn't indicate this. Last time when I installed the...

It may seem strange, but the open-source license allows anyone to sell physical CDs or DVDs to customers, provided that, for example, the source code is made available upon request and additional value is provided, such as an installation manual. Both of these are mentioned in the product description, so it appears to be legitimate...
