I'm also hoping you have time to do something Trevor never ended up adding, and that is to offer the option to switch "Track - Artist" view around to be "Artist - Track" instead, or at least allow a way to have the "Track - Artist" view be sorted on "Artist" instead of the default Track sort.
Hmmm, in GUI list i see Track and in other column Artist ...

    Correct, current view is:

    TrackArtist
    Dance MonkeyTones And I
    Let's DanceDavid Bowie
    Rock Me AmadeusFalco
    Space OddityDavid Bowie

And would like to have the ability to view it as (same view, simply sorted on "Artist" column):

    TrackArtist
    Let's DanceDavid Bowie
    Space OddityDavid Bowie
    Rock Me AmadeusFalco
    Dance MonkeyTones And I

Or if it is easier view it as (swap the two columns):

    ArtistTrack
    David BowieLet's Dance
    David BowieSpace Oddity
    FalcoRock Me Amadeus
    Tones And IDance Monkey

(or offer both views as an option)

I enjoy the view of "Artist - Track" the same way I got all my files called "Artist - Track.mp4" and they are dumped in a single folder.

There is not a single artist I like all songs from, and my taste is very eclectic. Sometimes I want to locate a song, and I either know artist "starts with an L-something" and I just want to scroll through it while seeing song-titles to see if anything rings a bell.

Albums I don't care for at all, so I got that totally disabled for as much as possible.

Anyway, I'm sure I will eventually get my dev-environment up and running again, and get MePo to compile locally again, so I can just grab mvCentral source and fork it for my own preference, but I know of at least three other people that use their system in a comparable way so figured it would make more sense to maybe add it to the official release.

Hmm, mvCentral show or FileName (as is) or records from DB in order Artist -> Tracks, or Artist->Album->Tracks...

To be honest, I can’t understand your problem and model it, so I don’t understand what to fix. Or what to add. If you have ideas on how to do this, then this can be discussed either using pieces of source code, or in screenshots, or something else.

But is it really impossible to change the sorting to the Artist?
Or if it is easier view it as (swap the two columns):
I don’t remember if there is such a display mode, but I can’t understand how you get all the tracks by artists, I can only have all the tracks by one artist. Maybe I don’t know something ...

i'm observing the topic and hope i understood correctly ;)
screen 01 shows the sorting and we only see artist and only with a click do I see track.I also deactivated album (nonsense and more clicks).
screen 02 shows the sorting that would be possible but doesn't work.
so now i am looking for a title without knowing which artist, i already have a problem.
can the sorting be implemented as in mymusik, screen 03 (without number ;)) ? artis - track and / or track - artist. then the search function of the track works
    I suspect this is @RoChess (n)

oh, files are all in one folder and correctly titled "artist - title" :)

Do all sort types not work?

In theory, this is solved either by the sorting method, or by the viewing method. I don’t remember what is there and how it works. :)

This is not important as far as I remember, but in the settings you can enable to show the file names and not the names from the database.
All files during scanning get into the database and from there are displayed to the user.
