mVids - Music Video Database (2 Viewers)

I'm not sure. I want to say it's a remote issue, but I don't use an MCE remote so I can't be sure. The skip, pause, play, etc, is all handled by MediaPortal. mVids just adds the videos to the playlist and starts it. If you click the "Playlist" button, do you see a bunch of videos? Also, does the skip button work when you're playing music?

dunno if it helps, but I use a mce remote and the skip function has never done anything, it has never worked in either playlist mode or playing files in My Videos for me.

Thanks... that does help. I'm gonna play with the MCE replacement plugin some more and see if I can get it to function.

I'm going to borrow an MCE remote from a friend and see what the problem is. It may be something that needs to be fixed in MediaPortal itself, in which case I'll create a patch and have gemx or another developer take a look at it and hopefully commit it for us. I'm not really sure what the deal is at this moment, though.

I believe I have some crashing which is caused by mvids. I posted this in MyTrailers since the MyTrailers plugin is the one that's crashing all over the place, so it could be something with both of the plugins, dunno. The MyTrailers post you can find here, couple posts back you'll find a log of mine attached (attached another one for you in this post).

So as you can see, I turned off the mvids plugin and everything is working fine now, no crashing. At first I could sometimes stream a video from gametrailers, but apple movie trailers never worked, crashed while listing files or trying to playback one. Gametrailers sometimes also crashes...

Could you please help me out with this? I like both of the plugins so don't wanna give up one of them

It seems like It's caused by the pthreadGC2.dll which I used before cause not having it caused problems (see this post). I removed the dll now, and enabled mvids again and now MyTrailers is still working.
I'm not really sure if I still need this DLL. I reinstalled this PC after you gave me the DLL. Before I was using vlc player plugin for streaming, now I don't anymore cause I have the codecs working fine now.

I read the linked post and saw that you had pthreadGC2.dll in your process plugins folder. That's not where you want it. You may not need it at all since you're using different codecs now instead of ffdshow for everything. That DLL is used by ffmpeg when generating thumbnails for the videos. You should probably be fine with that DLL in the same folder as ffmpeg. The problem with putting it in the process plugin folder is that MediaPortal tries to load it as if it were a process plugin, which it's not. As long as you don't put it in that folder and put it in the folder you have ffmpeg in, you won't see this crashing anymore.

I think I've got a workaround for the MCE skip issue. See the attached screenshot for a visual description, but basically you just need to open up MediaPortal's configuration, select Remote -> Microsoft MCE tab -> Click the Mapping Button -> Expand "Microsoft MCE Remote" -> Expand Skip -> Expand All Layers -> Select "Fullscreen Video". Then, change the action from "Next Chapter" to "Next Item".

This may keep you from being able to use the skip button for chapters in DVDs - I'm not really sure. I don't have any DVDs handy, so if someone could try this with a DVD and see if it's affected that would be great.

This would work on any button so if you have a button that you don't use you can set it to "Next Item" and it will work the same. I may be able to catch the Skip keypress and override it only if the video playing is in the mVids database, but if this works I'm not going to worry about it.

Aeon wide skin update

Love this plugin...just spent a weekend adding 1/2 of the 7000+ music vids I have collected - wish I had named and sorted them as I collected them! Well at least will be arranged right now.....

I use the Aeon wide skin and the skin file suppiled had a few formatting errors, I have cleaned this up and given it the std look, header, hover etc.

m8 thanks for that, I just followed what you posted and it works a treat, last time I mucked around with remote software was when I was trying to get a compro remote working with mp+hid and it was a nightmare, have been reluctant to try with the mce but you showed me how simple it is, thanks a bunch!

This is a great plugin... Peps, gotta keep this one in discussion as it's a gem.... Aeon Wide skin a bit messy though, also if your using the keyboard and it going to the next song, your stuck on the keyboard, but i've seen this in a lot of plugins... Any one know how to fix this... Thanks..
