I'm going to revamp (again) the entire scanning procedure so that it's more along the lines of Moving Pictures as I really like the way it does that. I'm thinking though that I'll go ahead and release what I've got before I start doing that, though. I'm working on finishing up the skin for blue3/blue2 4x3 since I never keep it up to date, then I've just got a couple of bugs to fix and this should be done. I assure you I will be adding all of the features previously mentioned, but I'd like to get this out before doing a lot of those things since this is the first version with the last.fm interface and I'd like to get some feedback on that portion.

Hey how that new version coming along :) Don't worry mate, know what it's like to be flat out... Gotta say very cool plugin, and quite usable as is.. Thanks

Thanks a lot, my wife and I use it on a daily basis so I think so too. I'm working on that next version as we speak, but I've only had time here lately to do things on the weekend, but hopefully things will ease up soon and I'll have a bit more time.

Yes, it's great.
Without possible bugs it could be even a great movie catalogue.
Still waiting for the next version to test

Haha, I'm sure you'll be first in line to let me know about the bugs :D

Help I'm having trouble updating the database. Originally I thought the plugin wasn't seeing some new VOB files I added, as all the other files were showing correctly. I went into config and cleared the database so nothing showed. I cliced on refresh and it found all the files and said they were added to update queue. However, they don't appear \when I look in the Music videos DB section in Mediaportal. I've also gone back into config and manually added a couple of the VOBs that I thought were a problem and it pics them up fine. How do I get the plugin to refresh all my entries without me having to go in and manually add them all?

Could you attach your Configuration.log after hitting the refresh database button? Please don't clear your database before doing it since I'd like for the log file to just have the problem files in it.

Hmmm, can you hire me as a PM?
I heard there's a kind of crisis in USA.
People in Russia are quite cheep.

To be serious, if you change the whole procedure to scanning files using pre-defined masks instead of browsing online resources, your plugin would be a nice movie DB.
Unlike MyFilms and others.

Be sure I would help you as hard as a brick :)

I want to thank you for an really neat looking plugin :)! I've been looking for something like this for ages (and I'm a too bad programmer to start making my own :p haha)!

You said about a week ago that you will soon release a new version, any news on that :D?

Cheers!

Hi,

I'm having problems importing the music videos to mVids.

I entered all the information, clicked "refresh database", and then it goes on and scan my folder.

16:17:05: Checking for and removing references to missing files
16:17:06: Removed 0 missing files
16:17:06: Scan Started
16:17:06: Looking for files with extension: .avi,.mpg,.ogm,.mpeg,.mkv,.wmv,.mov,.ts,.mp4,.divx
16:17:07: Found 111 files total
16:17:07: \\Omri-HTPC-DataCenter\htpc #2 (h)\Video Clips\Alicia Keys - Girlfriend.wmv added to update queue.
and so on...

However, after all the files have been added to the "update queue" - nothing happens.

I was thinking that maybe I have some problematic files (file format the ffmpeg can't handle, filename in different languages than English, etc), so I moved all of the files to a different folder, instead of one .mpg file.

I then refreshed the database again, the file was added to the update queue, and about 30 seconds later - the process continued with "file length detected" (or something like that) and some other stuff - and then the video was added with the artist info and everything.

I thought this was just a matter of time, so I tried again with all the files, and waited.
Nothing happened, even after 10 minutes. No respond at all.

I didn't find any log file for mVids in my logs directory:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINDOWS\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\log
So I'm pretty lost here....

Do you have any idea what could cause this?

Thanks!

OK Nevermind, I was able to import my videos by adding them in groups of 5-10 files, and fixing some filenames that weren't in the artist - title.ext format.
:)

Random crashes

Hey I know it's been a bit quiet as of recent with this plugin, but would some one please be able to have a look at this.. Have designed a rather nice skin for mVids, but I'm not sure if it is the cause of random crashes I have been having while playing music videos.... Have attached my logs... Please if any one could get back to me who knows a little more, would be so appreciated.. Just kinda sad, made this skin and it is not running to well... Thanks

I'm using MediaPortal RC3. No SVN. Thanks..

PS, heres a few screen shows of the skin, feel welcome to use it, requires Backgroundtop.png and hover_mvids to be dragged into media. Thanks..Runs under an alteration of BlueTwo Wide..

Also requires autobackground plugin.. As the system runs on multiple transparent layers. Thanks
