First i like to say how much i love your plugin. I use my htpc in my bedroom and its great with the sleeptimer. But there are three wishes for a future version.

    1. Is it possible to get longer time for the sleeptimer (i.e. 180 minutes). When possible it would be nice to set the maximum time in configuration.

    2. I would like set my own time for sleeptimer like i can set time for the alarm (i.e. Saturday at 5.00 pm i would set the sleep-timer for 1.00 am on Sunday)

    3. In combination with the sleep-timer an Option to go back to the home-screen so the power-scheduler can do his work

    Inker
    That would be really cool!!!!!!!!

    merci

    Thanks Inker!

I'm back from vacation now and moved into my new house so I can start working on the myalarm again. Its been a hard almost two months away from doing any side programming, although I have been watching the progressing of MP lately. Some awesome things happening. I will start to work on the alarm again ..main goal is to get all the power scheduler stuff working now.

No apology necessary. I should have it all done by next week. I lost some skin changes so I have to redo some things then test etc.

You will also be able to set a one time alarm as well as reoccurring alarms in the update.

Just a heads up that I completed the integration between the myalarm plugin and the powersheduler plugin so now you can have alarms wake up the computer :) ( finally!! )

Other additions include, one time alarms on a set day, month, year and time as well as reoccuring alarms (like how the plugin functions now).

I have also changed the sleeptimer to have the option to return to the home screen so that any shutdown or suspend functionality can be handled by the powerscheduler plugin.

I hope to do a bit more testing and submit the code very shortly.

    Back to the Code!

    Hi Everyone,

I have neglected the alarm plugin for awhile now and am wondering if anyone has any features that they would like to see in the alarm plugin.

Searching the forums I have compiled feature requests so far:

    • When selecting hours and minutes the controls should wrap ie. 0 should wrap down to 23
    • Also an option to replay the mp3 file a certain time, like 2 minutes.
    • Save the sleep timer settings ( I use it every night and am personally getting tired of setting the time ) :p
    • Configurable message to display when alarm fires.
    • Better configuration of gradual fade in/ out (ie. over X seconds, or increase by X %)

If anyone has any other improvements that they would like to see in the alarm plugin please let me know.

I also love the idea of the synthesised voice for an alarm.
You could type in the phrases you want with some variables included (ie, weather, time, etc) and this would be the wakeup method.

Since windows takes care of all the voice rendering, I guess this wouldn't be too hard, but then again, what do I know :)

Devo, what do you think? Would this be difficult? Could you do it?

    Re: Back to the Code!

Do u have the ability to use this to throw a splash screen (definable) on the playing video (i.e. a context or osd) for a defined period of time, or until the user forces it off. You could use the current context skin art to save a step and simply plug-in the desired alarm messaging.... or image

This would be useful for "I have to pickup the kids" - also with the associated sounds and misc.....

    Please keep us posted.

    Thx

I have done exactly that. You can now set a message when creating an alarm. When the alarm goes off a popup comes up from the bottom of the screen (similar to how the topbar animation) and displays the message.

I have a button to close the popup as well.

My idea was to have it displayed over video etc. only when the user sets an option in the my alarm plugin but it seems Fullscreen video , dvd etc doesn't allow overlay from non OSD overlays? I played with it a bit but it wasn't working for me but in all other contexts it works fine.
