    Search broken?

Don't know if it's only me - but the search stopped working since I moved to RC3 (I think) - ,eaning that over the remote only Asterix are coming (CRTL M doesn't change this) and now with RC5 also the remotekeyboard is only showing the first letter and asterix as soon as you put a second one in. But of course could also be me ...

I assume you must have got the patch fix if you are using RC3?

If so, the search functionality was removed.
It will make a return in the next release

    AniDB queue is stuck

I recently updated to MP1.1.0 RC6 and am using MyAnime2 v2.3.0.15, but one thing I've noticed with this version and also past versions is that the AniDB queue seems to get stuck frequently when coming out of S3 standby when there are items already in the queue.

I just ran into it again, where there were 32 items in the AniDB queue when I started MyAnime2, and the queue just kept growing because I was performing an import of more files, but no AniDB requests were succeeding. I don't see any status on the utilities screen, but it looks like a bunch of errors are occurring and being recorded in the log. I'm currently using Win7 Home Premium 64-bit, but I had very similar problems when I was using WinXP 32-bit (and I even had queue lengths of -1).

I'm hoping there's a way to work around this because I often have to restart MediaPortal after a resume just to clear the queue. If I just restart MP (I don't even have to restart the whole computer), then AniDB requests go through immediately without any problems.

    Attached are my log files.

Anybody else having trouble logging in to ANIDB? The problem started a few days ago, I've double-checked my user/pass info, and made sure the firewall wasn't blocking.

I can login fine through their website interface, but when I use the Test Login on the config screen, I get the following:

    Code:
    Binding to local port...
Bound to local address: 169.254.60.211:4555 - Port: 4555 (InterNetwork)
    Binding to remote port...
    Bound to remote address: 69.64.44.5 : 9000
    Logging in...
error in login: System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond

    Any thoughts?

Not sure - but doesn't local address 169.254. ... mean that you didn't get a IP-Address from your DHCP - or the TCPIP Setting of your Adapter isn't configured correctly? - from this message I would say you are simply not connected to your network (like if teh networkcable is unpluged)

If you are using Fanarthandler, then check if there are active proxy settings.
    Maybe thats your problem.

:D This lead me in the right direction!

My mobo has an on-board wireless adapter that I've rarely used since I have gigabit ethernet. I disabled on-board wireless and now I can login! The mystery now is why did Anime2 suddenly start trying to use that network adapter after connecting properly for several months? Peculiar.

    Hello,

    I am having some trouble with My Anime i have Samurai Champloo that i bought in a box set and it is split up into 7 disks i have imported each disk into a m4v format and named it as follows;

    /Anime/Samurai Champloo/Samurai Champloo Disk 1/Samurai Champloo.m4v

but when i run a import it dosent appear in my list, i have tried different combinations and it even appears in AnimeDB but i can't get it to work, is their a preffered naming convension?

    Thanks
    Richard

I installed RC6 and there were no problems.
I should have looked at you error message first I guess...
I am pretty sure you have copied the Anime2.dll to the wrong location. It should only be in the following folder
    C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins\Windows

Delete the DLL from any other locations under the "C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal" folder

By default MediaPortal does not support M4V files. You will need to co into the MP config and add it.
Videos - Video Extensions - Then add .m4v as an extension.
This will allow MyAnime to recognize your files as video files.

However since you have encoded the files yourself, they will not appear on AniDB. This plugin does not use naming formats to recognise files. Basically you will need to manually add the files yourself. I have explained this process somewhere in this thread before. But as some of our existing users can attest to, this can be quite painful. I will write it up in a FAQ in the next couple of days as well.

Alternatively you can wait for the upcoming version of the plugin. Although it is still not easy, I find it a lot better at least.

I had a brief look at the problem but couldn't figure it out.
I'll try and set some time aside to actually test it using stand-by mode and see what I can find
