    Hi,

Seems like the seen & unseen columns in StreamedMP are switched.

    Cheers,

    Maximizing the recognition rate?

Can anybody please explain me what methods My Anime is using for finding the right ifno for an Anime Series.
I know that it is hashing the files, but how does it go on when no suitable hash is found at AniDB? Does it then search for the Series?

I just ask because i must now renew my complete Database because the data dont reside on the HTPC anymore but on a NAS System and i want to maximize the recognition rate so i have less to do manually.

Did you tried to copy the db file to the new location?

If the files are the same it should recognise them even if the links are different

    Cheers,

Yes, if you just keep the same database you shouldn't need to download all the information from AniDB again.

    Okay i will try that.
But just for the future, now i have the problemn that many german Fansubs Groups do not add their releases to the AniDB, so hashing the Files wont work, and i had to add many animes manually in the last time.

Can i increase the recognition rate by renaming the files useful for My Anime, like for example renaming [subs4u]animexy_01_(x264,ger)_[ED2AB283].mkv to animexy S01E01.mkv?
Thats why i want to know which methods My Anime 2 uses to recognize files.

No the names of the files will not have any bearing on the import process.
MyAnime2 hashes the files, and then uses that hash to download the information from AniDB.

In your case there may be some work the plugin needs to do when you moves your file to a different location, but I'm not sure off the top of my head.
If it doesn't work, we have added a utility in the config to batch assign unrecognized files which may make it easier.

Sorry for the vague answer but I have been working on MyAnime3 for the last few months, and have kind of forgotten the finer details of MA2. Not that it helps, but MA3 will handle your situation much better and you can pretty much move files around as you please.

    MA3?

    Sound interesting.
As we just discussed db migration: Is it possible to migrate the MA2 db to MA3 - or do we need to rescan all files?

    Cheers,

It won't be possible to directly migrate the database, as the schema has changed too much.
However you will be able to import all of your manually associated files so you don't have to do that again.

MA3 is still a long time away anyway, and we are still not sure whether it will be for MP1 or MP2.
If we do release for MP1, for most MA2 users they probably won't find a good reason to upgrade as the interface within MediaPortal will probably be very similar.

The main reasons to upgrade would be for people who run MP on multiple machines, or for people who want a better dedicated windows client (see attached screenshots).
Otherwise I'd recommend for most people to stick with MA2 at that time.
