For the filename point you brought up. My Anime does not use file names for detecting files. For more info check:

With the tvdb point. We use the AniDB's own definition of anime since we do rely heavily on their database. Anything that isnt anime, no matter how much it looks like it, is not picked up by My Anime. While me might add the ability to use other databases it seems like a lot of work to support those very few exceptions were an anime thats not listed on AniDB.net should possibly apper in My Anime. In most cases, manually adding the anime will do.

On the MPEI point. The current MPEI installer can not do half of what the current installer we use already does. Also to be listed in the MediaPortal extension installer - plugins list, certain conditions must be meet, which we dont. Mainly not editing MediaPortal files, which we do .

On the artwork point. If My Anime can not get hold of the artwork, probably because there is none, then you should not need to add it to the list again. By the time My Anime is looking for artwork, an assoication has already been made. If you want to check again for artwork, goto the anime in the main window and bring up the menu(f9 on the keyboard). Select images and then select fanart.

About the redesigns. If you have just the layout(s), post them in the New Ideas section on our forums. If you have actually made modifcations to skins for the layouts, post them in the Skinners and developers.

Since My Anime does not use file names, there is no need to post a list of filenames.

If you look at the utilities screen, you'll notice a bunch of queue listed. During an import these should show the activity of the different processes that happen during an import. If nothing happens please start a support thread at our forums.

Is the latest release (MyAnime2_v2.3.0.13) stable?

I used the 'Anime2_DLL_2.3.0.15.zip (785.2 KB, 29 views)'- fix to get it to work properly, but very few of my animes get recognized. For examle it won't recognize Bleach straight from DB so the hashes should be correct. In it's current form My Anime is useless to me as I'm having major problems getting files recogized.

And its there supposed to be no feedback when you start an import? It's difficult to know if something is actually happening.

I think there is an issue with the internetconnection for looking up the anidb database ... I have seen this starting 2.3.0.14 where suddenly files are not recognised plus the anidbque starts filling up - but after a complete reboot it normally workes again.

Also still the option "Community says" is empty. But this is maybe related?

The error log is pointing to problems with the connection with anidb.net. You are connecting to them, its just having problems maintaining that connection. Checking the anidb.net website, they seem to have very recently done some hardware changes to their server, which would be a primary cause of a problem like this. I would try again later and see if the problem persists.

That was weeks ago. Unless the logs posted are quite old (and I don't get the impression this is the case), I don't believe the API downtime would be the cause of the connection errors.

Regarding Bleach [DB], i have just about every DB release of Bleach all listed perfectly, i lost a load of files a while ago, and re-downloaded the initial 200 episodes, now my Bleach collection is complete.

Apart from the fact that i am 'missing' episodes which never existed as they were doubles.

It is almost certainly a connection problem between me and AniDB atleast. I got something like 6 series recognized the first time i ran it, but many many series that should be recognized show up as unrecognized. I posted the connection test log further up, and it fails every time. Same thing happens if I do an import and watch the status. I get: -1 connection (possibly login) failed. The relevant ports are open (9001, 4555) unless there are any more ports I need to be aware off. I've checked firewall settings, and both Mediaportal and MP config are allowed.

I'm having a whole bunch of problems with this plugin and I hope somebody can help me out.

1. When I installed the plugin I made sure it would also install support for the streamedMP skin (got the latest version). But when I started the streamedMP editor I had a whole bunch of my anime things I could chose from. I selected my anime_main figuring this would probably be the one I need to use. But it doesnt show nice backdrops or anything from the main MP screen.

2. I scanned al my files, which seemed to work perfectly as I took quite some time etc. But when I now load my anime it doesnt show anything.

3. It crashes all the time. Now I'm on RC2 so I might need to download the hotfix I just saw at the top the this page. Havnt tried that yet.

Anyway my biggest problem apart from the crashes which I hope will be fixed by the fix is that I don't get to see anything. I did everything according to the guide.

edit: Tried the fix, first of all maybe it is smart to tell people where to put the files (I put them in mediaportal root), but it doesnt change anything. No more crashes but it doesnt show anything. Just a background. I checked in the plugin screen and it did find my anime but as I said it doesnt display anything.

I have also a problem importing files.
I'm using a fresh database file, because I reorganized my files on my HDD.
But I can't import a file.
Even if the files are unrecogniczed, they didn't show up in the list in the utilities screen.

The AniDB Check in the Config screen is working.
In the past I had also no problems like that.
I'm using MP RC2 with the fixed dll.
Maybe its related to that fix?!

Wow - sorry if it causes a misunderstanding - but the conectionissue some of us currently have is not related to anidb timeouts or banned accounts cause of large amount of data. It's simply not connecting - and it does again when the whole machine is rebooted (what's a realy starnge behaviour).

Plus it started happening with 2.014.

About the "Community says" - it's only saying "Community Says:" That's it. No Suggestion. I thought the Text would only be visible if there is something sugested?
