Ok, i tried the plugin. I use the PMIII skin and there is already a MyBurner.xml file in it. If i try it i can only see Audio and can't select any files. Then with the MyBurner.xml of the MyBurner2.0.rar i can select Audio and Video-DVD. And the files with it. But i only have a black background and not the one of the PMIII skin. Should i ask the PMIII skin maker to update his file?
If i click Start Burning, nothing happens. I selected Video-DVD and then an AVI file. What should happen? I installed the needed files from Microsoft as requested in the Plugin section.

I came across the following......
http://www.binarymagics.com/site/magic_cddvd_burner_dot_net.html

nLite uses it to create and and burn ISO images. The description looks very interesting. nLite is a freeware.

It looks like you have to pay for the full version, but the last sentence in the description confuses me. Does this mean the api can be used for free?

edit: It seems like nLite got the API donated by them. Looking for confirmation now from the nLite developer.

Royalty free should probably be interpreted as: If you buy our app/api and built your own program with it, you don't need to pay us money for every copy of your program you sell.

Sounds logical

A single license without source costs 250 USD. With source it costs 1490 USD. As far as I understand the 250USD includes lifetime support and updates. That's pretty cheap. I could mail the devlopers to try to get it for free. Maybe in exchange for some advertisement on the frontpage, if the admins agree?

Havent tried this with any other skins. Only BlueTwo.
You say nothing happens....do you get any messages on the screen?
Open up the MP Configuration app and configure MyBurner. Click on the two checkboxes Keep Temp Files For Debugging and Dont Burn the DVD.
Now try again. The DontBurn the DVD is just to save you wasting DVD's while we work out whats going wrong (in case it decides to work!). Try and burn that AVI again. Now look in your temp/DVD folder (whereever you told the plugin to store Temp files) and tell me what files you have. Also can you post the relevant part of the MediaPortal.log file for me.

    Cheers

I'll try to make a MyBurner skin for PMIII this evening. I'll probebly post it tomorrow in the PMIII topic.

    Hey Bram,

Good to hear from you again :)

To be honest, im not entirely sure what I did with the Skin stuff....its not my strong point. The one included with the MyBurner package seems to work though!

Egon - You may want to change your first post in this thread. The link in that post isn't correct now, the link for your plugin has changed to: https://www.team-mediaportal.com/files/Download/Plugins/Utilities/MyBurner/

BTW - Do you have a todo section of what you want to add for features? I was asking , since this is a long thread.

And what about the api I posted before? Any interest? Does it seem like a solution to you?

We have kind of got all that working now. From what I saw of it, it only handles doing the actual burning....which the new version has got fully working now.
The hard part of making a DVD is the conversion/processing from AVI/MPG to VOB, and making DVD menus. If you can find anything that simplifies this then that will be of great interest :) Good hunting...ive spent hours trying to find it!
