My Launch (yahoo launch videos) (2 Viewers)

I just copied mylunch.dll into the windows\plugins folder and the mylaunch.xml into my favorite skin.
But it doesn't work. I can select mylaunch from the home menu but thats all, even the escape button doesn't work anymore.
I tried different skins but always the same.
And what about the source folder in the zip? Do I have to copy it somewhere?

I've been away for too long to explain my absence now, but I should be frequenting these forums again.
Aparently My Launch doesn't work with the latest MP. I won't be able to look at it anytime soon, so support will be largely limited to when I get around to it.
However I saw a post just now from privateip saying that he's going to make a re-write, if so that would be great.

And I'm sorry again for not being around.

Juvinious, I see the problems Ralph is describing frequently with my own plugins and is usually solved by recompiling against the lastest code, its worth a try anyway.

I managed to get this working. I'm not sure it it's exactaly as the author had it running before, but it works good enough.

It only works for me after disabling .asx as a movie type thru mediaportal's setup.

I'm not a programmer and I'm not taking up this project so i'll be of no use if you have problems with this

Guys,

For a while we had a dev, Private_IP doing some amazing work on this plugin. He was taking it to the next steps adding playlists, and many other feature.

Private was running into queuing issues with the streams and the player when running back-to-back and handle latency and buffering with the MP player. He was planning to rewrite this but I very sadly have not seen him in a long time.

He and I spent a ton of time on this, but I think his job prevailed and hope to see him back. He was incredbily talented, headed in the right direction with this great concept, but clearly was a skilled enough developer to identify some of the challenges when trying to queue streams back to back within the video player that needed some work.

Hopefully he will join us again or someone could pick that up.

The last time I saw juvinious on this forum (specifically this thread) was on Jun 06. I though he had been developing on this plugin. If so is he available again to check into why this plugin is not working with the latest code base?

Note: This is the only thing bad about open source programming. One developer creates a module (in this case a plugin) and then drops off the face of the earth (never to be heard from again) and when the major project moves forward, no one seems to want to dig in and find the reason why the module is broken with the new code.

Unfortunately my htpc has been dead for some time now, probably around the time you refered to seeing me so I have been unable to test my plugin at all.
My other computer runs linux so I can't really work, improve or test the plugin any further at the time.
The parser should work fine, unless yahoo has changed their format, so all that needs to be done is just recompile the source with the latest MP source and fix anything specific that has changed, like the video player or what have you. I'm on #MediaPortal on IRC so if anybody has any questions or wants to improve the plugin they can message me and I can be there to assist. Until I have a working copy of windows and .NET again I won't be able to do nothing.

excellent plugin !!

I was able to debug the full screen video problem and provide a fix for it. you can get the updated plugin (source included) here

it should now work without having to have .asx (or any other extension) configured.

I tried the version of this plugin that kinggeo1973 put together and I was able to search for videos and find them, but it never came up and played them. I can't get PrivateIP's version because it doesn't seem to be hosted there anymore, and the original version of the plugin does nothing when I select My Launch.

From the previous posts I gather that no one is maintaining this plugin. Is this so? Can anyone mirror PrivateIP's edition of the plugin for me? I'd love to try it again.

Thank you all for your work. This plugin is a great idea. There are other music video sites, but if Yahoo is the easiest to work with then that works.

Or do I need to instal 0.2.0?

When I enter the "My Launche" plugin in MP, the "Explorer" plugin comes up instead :!: :?:

What can I do about it
