Is it possible for further version to include a playlist management in this plugin? Like the IPTV@UT plugin.
My freebox provide a playlist with all available streams, and it will be great to get its content directly in MP to avoid to have to enter the stream address with the keyboard.
Almost everything is possible if you have enough time ;)
I will look at it, how this can be integrated into the plugin. But I can't promise anything, because I don't have many experiences with playlists in MP. If it is possible, it will be integrated in one of the next versions.

    Hi all,
here is a small update on the development process:
I have fixed the standard playlist handling in the plugin. But it is now also possible to treat play list as folders and select a specific entry for playback. The plugin supports all play lists that are supported by MP.
I also fixed a problem when playing music with MPlayer and the external OSD library.

And last but not least I committed a patch to SVN to get rid of the reflection in the OSD library. When this patch is in SVN, I will release a new version.

    misterd,

Quick question. Why is it that my high def content (specifically x264 encoded matroska files) plays fine with mplayer but is jerky and loses sync when played with MediaPortal's internal video player?

Thanks for this plugin as I can now actually watch high def content.

I have no clue why the internal player has such problems with these files. Normally it has something to do with the filters that are used.

Ok... I am trying to get this plugin working but the README is a joke...

It says you need the mPlayer plugin to view QT videos and I have installed that but then I don't have mplayer installerd... Do I need that?

Why can't one assume when writing a README that the person reading said readme doesn't automatically know all of the dependencies of said software for said README and how to install them?!

    ----- Tangent -----
Media portal is the most tedious piece of software to install and get working and the fruits of the configuration labor are subpar... uhg why do I bother with this software.

I assume that you are referring to the README of the OnlineVideo plugin, since My MPlayer doesn't have a README file anymore. The OnlineVideo plugin is written by gregmac and so I have no influence on the README of his plugin.

My MPlayer isn't needed to play QT movies. There are also other ways of playing QT movies in MP (e.g. VLC).
MPlayer is absolutely needed for My MPlayer, because this plugins only embeds the video window of MPlayer into MP.

It's possible to configure My Mplayer to work ONLY with the OnlineVideos plugin? it could be great, because OnlineVideos works much better with this plugin, but i don't want to use it in another MP areas...

Sorry, this isn't possible, because the player factory mechanism of MP selects the player, based on the extension of the filename/url. The gui plugin of My MPlayer therefor adds a fake extension to the filename. The result is that the player factory always selects MPlayer as player.
The OnlineVideo plugin could of course do the same, but this is out of my control, because it has to be done in the OnlineVideo plugin. Gregmac knows about this possibility, but didn't implemented such a feature.
In my opinion MP should have the possibility to change the player within MP and/or define a standard plugin for each plugin. Perhaps MP II will have such a feature.

    Hi misterd,
first of all thanks for the excellent work, I've istalled the plugin yesterday and the firs "impact" is very good, just some question:
-there's some documentation for this plugin? I'm not able to find it in the mediaportal folder after the package installation
-how can I change the cache setting? and the other settings dispalyed by the initail wizard?
-the cache is used also for the AVI files played from LAN servers?
-what is the sintiax for adding new shares?
-I've made the italian strings files (Attached): can be useful?

    thanks

    best wishes

    Hi ettore,
thanks for the italian language file. It will be included in the next version, which will available hopefully this week.

-there's some documentation for this plugin? I'm not able to find it in the mediaportal folder after the package installation
There is no additional documentation available for this plugin. But you should have a look at the documation of MPlayer. Also the configuration panel contains tool tips which should explain everything.

-how can I change the cache setting? and the other settings dispalyed by the initail wizard?
All these values are available in the configuration of the two plugins. You can reach them via the Confiugration program of MP. The only difference is that the explanations which are shown on the right side of the wizard are missing.

-the cache is used also for the AVI files played from LAN servers?
Yes. The cache is used for every file that you play. If you want it for a specififc extension or stream type, you have to set the general option to 0 and than define manually for the specific extension/stream type.

-what is the sintiax for adding new shares?
You can add additional share in the configuration of the gui plugin. You just have to specify the location on your machine and a name for this share. Currently FTP shares like in my video or my music can't be defined in the plugin. They can only be used, if they were defined in MP directly.

I hope that helped to answer your questions.

    Regards,
    MisterD
