My TVSeries still identifies shows as NEW after all episodes watched (1 Viewer)

I marked the recent episode as unwatched again in the episode level, but the series didn't switch back to being new. (It should be new as the recent episode is now marked as unwatched)

Does the UnWatched Count report 0 or 1? If 0 then that would explain why it didnt show the New icon. If it still reports 0, what is the airdate of that episode?

I tested with the 2nd version:


Installed new .dll
Opened MP Config -> Ran an import, closed, saved changes.
Ran MP, all my tvshows that had recent episodes (regardless of wether they were recently added watched or recently added nonwatched) were no longer tagged as NEW. This is wrong, as some of the series were added <7 days ago and are unwatched.
Closed MP


Added a dummy episode "Wonders of the Solar System S01E04.avi"
(I already had Wonders of the Solar System Ep1,2,3 which were recently added + unwatched, but incorrectly not showing up with new tags)
Restarted MP
The new episode was imported
The series was correctly tagged as NEW in the series list.
I toggled watched onto S01E04, then went back to main list, Series was still marked as new despite the episode being watched
Restarted MP
The series was still incorrectly marked as new
I toggled watch on the other 3 eps
Ep1 [watched]
Ep2 [watched]
Ep3 [watched]
Ep4 [watched]
Ep5 [not owned]
The series was still incorrectly marked as new
Restarted MP
The series was still incorrectly marked as new

I noticed another error:
I had 4 eps of Wonders of the solar system, with the series marked as watched at the series level
I then manually added a 5th dummy episode file.
The episode appeared in the GUI as watched, even though it hadn't been watched and I had just added it.

I have managed to reproduce this, something funny going on with the Import, it cleared the flag which stores whether the series has recently added episodes. Its not easy to produce but I think it has something to do with other import actions running on another thread.

Anyway, Im just going to concentrate on fixing this issue first and go from there.

Tested v2:

1. Set episode as WATCHED in Config
2. Ran import
3. Start MP -> still NEW label

Still have the issue that when i set an episode as (Un)watched in config, then start MP -> the status hasn't been changed in GUI. When i start TV Series config again, it looks like the (Un)watched settings which were showing in GUI are now 'copied' in Config also. Looks like the (Un)watched status which shows in MP is overruling the settings in Config. Logs attached.

Shouldn't there be a Watched status on episode level? Long time since i checked Config settings, but i just noticed i only have an UnWatched status on Season level.

Im not sure what your referring to, screenshot perhaps?

Sounds like it was marked as watched previously e.g. a toggle watched at season/series level could of marked any episodes you dont own yet if 'Show All Episodes' was enabled. Anyway, I have never experienced that issue.

I can't reproduce this, are you 100% sure Ep5 or an episode from another season wasn't marked as unwatched...it doesnt matter if you own it or not when 'Show All Episodes' is enabled. I've done a million tests on it.

The only bug I can't seem to narrow down is when an import is run from Config that it clears the RecentEpisodes flag on all series.

EDIT: Can I suggest changing layout to 'List' and confirm that the Unwatched Count at the Series level is greater than zero on any series that shows the NEW tag.

When i select a Season in config, it shows the 'Episodes UnWatched'.


I thought that on the Episode details page, it also showed the Watched count (number of times you watched this specific episode). I'm probably mixing up things with MovPic

Play count is not in tvseries, your thinking of MovPics.
