MySQL Installation (1 Viewer)

I have the same issue....How was this resolved?

Hi
Sorry for the delay but I made absolutely sure that I could follow the steps that I took.
It reads easy but a few things need to be done.
Clear out every bit of software that refers to MySql - Here I mean everything. I used Windows 7 Manager to delete programs, registry entries, services etc..
Remove/Delete everything to do with the MediaPortal and/or Microsoft SQL etc. (also Program Data).
I know this is tedious but you do need a clean machine
- Make sure there are no active redundant services (TvService, SQL etc.)
- Remove and reinstall the required .NET Microsoft software
- Install (not necessary but useful) Visual Studio 2008
- Reinstall MySQL (how you configure depends on your LAN/WAN environment - I chose a complete, with logon security, installation) - no hangers
- Reinstall Media Portal Server and connect to MySQL
It worked first time with the "sa" account with "MediaPortal" password.
Now I'm starting to play around.
