I think it only works if you either use QuickTime itself or the Medialooks Quicktime DirectShow filter.
Reason: Apple restricted http access to the trailer files by a UserAgent setting in the request.

You are missing the point. I get it to work with QT sure, but i can't play any HD-content anymore higher then 480p ( i get stutter/lag) because its decoded in software and not hardware.
