I think it only works if you either use QuickTime itself or the Medialooks Quicktime DirectShow filter.
Reason: Apple restricted http access to the trailer files by a UserAgent setting in the request.

I don't think so as the online videos plugin works for the apple site with their fix and NO QT installed.
Trailers plug should implement the same as the online videos plugin has done.

You are missing the point. I get it to work with QT sure, but i can't play any HD-content anymore higher then 480p ( i get stutter/lag) because its decoded in software and not hardware.
SAF makes it so that the decoding takes place in HW and I can play content up to 1080P.

I guess you missed my point then.

Because I can play 1080p trailers with my rig.
So I have no need to switch to SAF, because my rig works just fine.

For your situation it's oke (i wouldn't change it either) but for alot of ppl probably not...

Yap, difference is.
My system is running, so no need to change to SAF.
Your system is not sadly nolonger working, so you either change it, or wait until this plugin gets updated.
But this seems rather unrealistic to happen soon.

Can I clarify what it is that's not working? Reason being mytrailers has recently stopped playing files in 720p or 1080p for me, after initially working fine. I've tried re-installing all codecs in the optimal way but no joy.

May it be the same issue?

Apple Quicktime + MediaLooks QuicktimeDirectShowfilter = playback of SD and HD trailers is working. (tested yesterday evening)

SAF filter pack... no clue about what is actually inside -> appears to be not able to play appletrailes with _this plugin_

BTW, MyTrailers plugin seems to be little outdated. If you want working apple trailers, you can try Online Videos - apple proxy was already fixed in latest plugin versin.

It is really outdated which is a shame because for watching trailers I find this plugin much more convenient than OnlineVideos (which also is a great plugin)...

armandp: how are our chances of getting a new version of this great plugin in the near future???
