well i fixed it by removing quicktime and installing quicktime alternative.
both the apple trailers website and the plugin works now

That's what it is ... I've already removed and reinstalled all my codecs. Wish I'd have read this sooner

The Online video plugin fixed the issue with apple site. (cant play : blablabla Audio codec: ).

Would be nice if the trailer plugin could be fixed in the same way, as installing qt and directshowfilter isn't an option if you play HD-content. (no hw decode in qt) CPU goes through the roof than.

I've been watching latest apple trailers yesterday.
No issues.

SAF package does HW decode.

And then you can not play other mov's with codecs such as sorenson.

I think it only works if you either use QuickTime itself or the Medialooks Quicktime DirectShow filter.
Reason: Apple restricted http access to the trailer files by a UserAgent setting in the request.

SAF already have solution for this.
Modern MOV files with h.264 = no problem, DXVA on.
MOV from older cameras with non standard audio/video format - rename *.MOV to *.MOVSD to enable MediaLook filter. Boom, it is working

I am definitly not going to rename 200+ files.
Everyone has to choose the solution he likes most. Mine is native Quicktime + MediaLooks DS Filter.

*I* dont *need* SAF, so i don't *need* to rename everything.
Never change a running system.
