Thanks LRFalk01, glad you have got somewhere and sounds like you are learning heaps.

I thought Apple trailers was already available in the Online Videos plugin, though I have not got it going, but have not really tried. I have found in the past QT can be very fiddly to get going and slight change can cause issues with players.

The other option I might be for you to have a section for Yahoo and another for Apple, especially considering you have already got the old sources working.

As for codec registration, it would be desirable if the filter registration could be separate to the plugin, so that other versions could be easily used instead. You could still supply them as an archive with an include bat to do the registration.

Thanks again. :)

Apple Trailers were available in the Online Videos plugin but they don't work anymore (probably a change in site layout). But maybe it could be useful to have a look at the code.

Yeah, I will start working on a MyTrailers that pulls from Apple tomorrow/next week. I have been thinking about how to tackle it while helping my brother move. I think it will actually be easier than the yahoo one being that Apple does not do nearly as much as Yahoo to hide the link to the trailer and it is always a mov file rather than a flv/mov/wmv/... But whatever, I am extremely tired and feel disgusting. Time for shower and sleep. I am still unsure how to register codecs. I downloaded that quicktime alternative pack, and Window Media Player still does not play Mov files.

    - On a side note, I was thinking of adding a showtimes feature to this plugin. Does that already exist?

    Thanks,

    Hi LRFalk01,

Your efforts on this are really appreciated! I love the My Trailers plugin and so do many others as you can see by the comments. Keep up the great great work.

Windows Media Player seems to have a mind of its own with codecs. Try playing a .mov file in media player classic or something like that. It works fine for me in that, or Irfanview. Of course its ok in MediaPortal too ;0)

    Cheers,
    Colin

If I can get a file to play in Media Player Classic, it will play in MP?

-TerraWan, do you have that problem with every movie you try to see or just that one? The page I pull that information from is this one:

    http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809878244/details

!!!! Thank you TerraWan! I was looking at the source of that page again and I found this link:

    http://us.rd.yahoo.com/movies/trail...qtv-s.65859375-,8182243-10300-qtv-s.65859377-

When You take this link, you go to a version of the trailer/clips page like it was with the old MyTrailers. I can make my trailers work like it used to with mms streams. (I think.) . . Wow I am very pleased with this discovery, I wish that I had time to work on it today.

    Thanks,

I think so. I installed k-lite codec pack (which includes ffdshow). Media Player Classic was installed with that codec pack too. This didn't include a .mov codec so also installed the quicktime alternative. This then allowed Media Player Classic, Irfanview and MediaPortal to play .mov files.

I've just checked and Windows Media Player does play .mov files as well! Strange, not sure why but it seems all my media players are ok with .mov files now :0)

If you install quicktime alternative you will be able to play mov files in mediaportal without problems, at least it works with Online Videos plugin.
