!!!! Thank you TerraWan! I was looking at the source of that page again and I found this link:

Wanted trailers and video clips on Yahoo! Movies

When You take this link, you go to a version of the trailer/clips page like it was with the old MyTrailers. I can make my trailers work like it used to with mms streams. (I think.) . . Wow I am very pleased with this discovery, I wish that I had time to work on it today.

Thanks,
LRFalk01

That would be great if it worked how it used to, with the internal player :0) Now I can't wait until you have time to work on it!! :0)

Cheers,
Colin

i have it on every movie.
Great that it helped you to find even an easier solution !!

That is very interesting TerraWan. Can you please go to the following link:

Wanted (2008) - Movie Details - Yahoo! Movies

and send me the source code for that page. If you use Firefox Ctrl+U gives you this. It can usually be found under View->Source

Thanks,
LRFalk01

Colin, I'm sorry to report that I was mistaken. Only the hover status of the links looked like they used to, and all of the link statuses were the same, so as far as being able to make the Yahoo trailers work. . . back to square one. I am gong to start working on a MyTrailers that pulls from Apple this week if I get time. Monday morning right now, so I am somewhat unmotivated .

Have a look at the MyShowTimes plugin. That pulls from apple trailers and may help.

Regarding your question about show times, the plugin above does do this but takes quite a while to pull in the correct cinema and then the show times for it. It may be more hassle that it's worth, and could slow your plugin down considerably.

I think the best thing you could do here is get MyTrailers working with Apple trailers, using the internal player, and everyone would love you forever!!! :D

Yeah, I may rework the MyTrailers to use Apple Trailers . A couple of things that wound be lost is the DVD information, the rating, and the additional non-trailer clips.

I could also try to figure out how to use the configuration settings to give users the choice of what to use.

Apple do provide clips as well as trailers. They also provide a description. Is that what you mean by DVD info? Apple do an age rating (eg PG or 18 etc) but did you mean star rating? All this info is in the page source code, example below:

</td>

<td class="details">
<h1>Take</h1>
<span class="subtitle">Copyright © 2008 Liberation Entertainment</span>

<p>The lives of two strangers - a struggling mother (Minnie Driver) and a gambling addict (Jeremy Renner) - converge in unspeakable tragedy. Years later, they must come to terms with themselves and one another. As two pivotal days, one past and one present, unfold in a non-linear mosaic, Take explores the corrosive effects of resentment and hatred.</p>

I wonder if you could pull the star rating from another site (like Yahoo)? Just using Apple for the streams?

Just a thought.

Colin

I really think Yahoo has the superior site, and I am nearly done with getting it fully functional again. I am going to continue on that route to making Yahoo the preferred avenue for trailer viewing. I have no problem working with getting an Apple option up and going, but I am not a fan of how they are doing their site. Not all of their information pages have the same information or are even use the same layout. For that matter, they do not even always have the same url structure.

A good example of these shortcoming is dodgeball: a true underdog story, which I will intentionally not give you a link to. This points out another shortcoming of their trailers webapp. (I hope to have the archive and searching features up and going again for yahoo sometime this week.)
