Should I implement an automatic file organizer to move and rename files?

worked nice for
band of brothers
rescue me

did not work at all (crashed) for
friends
deleting stuff from the already imported series list

suggestions:
-instead of having the "back" button in the ui please make the default back button (<- in mce remote) of MP work as the back, it took me straight back to the main menu
- for the love of god, start a wiki page for this or start updating a single post with updates, took me ages to find the newest version
- provide sourcecode so ppl can contribute (id like to for example, this is one of the plugins i really need)
- instead of automatically parsing, please add an option to manually download all info on a series, then you could drag&drop the correct files to the slots in the configuration window, much like musicbrainz picard works (www.musicbrainz.org)

The "drag&drop" user interface does not work on a mediaPC - the users in general are using a remote control and that doesn't have mouse controls and it shouldn't have. There would need to another type of interface developed to allow this to happen.

propably so, but the plugin is really buggy atm, and theres no reasonable way to manually add series atm, and the plugin hangs on alot of series when you try to add them, so it would be a great addition to the plugin to be able to add series manually

and i bet all htpc users have some sort of input possibilities apart from just a remote (or then they are just plain weird :p )

Does this plugin currently work? Today (21st July 2006) i downloaded the latest version of media portal and the latest version of the plugin (0.32A) but i am unable to get the plugin to search tv.com correctly.

The output of a log file is :

When i try to go the the tv.com urls in the file they work fine and find one series only, even if i get the plugin to ask me the series name it still doesnt work?

One of the main reasons i downloaded mediaportal was for this plugin so any help would be great, thanks.

Hi lewis.curley and welcome to the board.

This plugin is still in development, and as such has a few bugs.
If you have a look further up the thead, you can see that a few people are having issues with specific titles.

All I can suggest is try renaming the files yourself to something meaningful (changing dots for spaces, etc) and try again. I know thats what the expressions are for, but you never know.

Thanks for the advice, unfortunately it didnt work, i think it is due to the fact that it is not parsing the response from tv.com correctly.
Oh well will keep an eye on this forum in the hope that one day it will work.
    Keep up the good work

Not sure if it will help, but try renaming the file from...

    lost.s02e23.s02e24.[hdtv].[www.tensiontorrent.com].avi
    to
    lost.s02e23.avi

it *could* be because of the two entries for the episode number and the full url is not being shown.

Worth a try at least! :)

It's not just this episode or this series, but I tried the rename and it didn't work. It's like described by lewis.curley post of Fri Jul 21, 2006 11:09 am.

I'll just wait for a new version. On that subject, where exactly can I download it and how do I determine the version.

Seems like TV.com might have changed their code/setup somehow...

I tried adding files today that have worked before but neither the parsing or manually entering the series name, will produce a match via TV.com.

... that or the latest 0.2.0.2 stable patch broke the plug-in somehow.

Has anybody been able to get this plugin working lately?

I have recently moved over to MediaPortal (after Meedio sold out to Yahoo) and really would like this TV Show importing functionality.

Is anyone actively working on this plugin? From the look of the size of this forum I think it would be a great to have as part of the core MediaPortal download.
