I thought of that, but I don't like it. My files are all named the same, its just shows that have "the" in them I name that way so they're alphabetical. That's the way I like them to show in the database too. If I could enter a manual search string in the popup window or if the importer ignored these characters, then it would work fine.
I tried adding some items to the search/replace, but it didn't seem to do anything. I had thought that if I added ", The" to be replaced with "", that it would do that on the import, but it doesn't seem to work that way...

Rename you files. That's the quickest workaround.

Otherwise you could make your own simple expression and use the foldername for the series name. Read older posts.
