Maybe a litlle bug, being test with MTN.
MP config :
THumbnail :autocreate thumbs : X / leave a thumb in recorded folder : X
Video DB : use internal nfo scraper only : X / Do not use Databse : O
legend : X checked / O unchecked
shared folder are priorties on thumb folder
thumb found on sharedfolder are priorities on MPthumb. !

After Code change, many weeks ago, Poster thumbs in shareview ( when folder is movie) not displaying for replace folder icon,
i think since from this code : LINK
And an other "bug", poster on storage, has priorities on MPthumbs (Thumbs folder in Prg Data) when are available in DB.

As I understood correctly problems are tho following:

1. Video is not in the database:

• folder.jpg/thumb created from MTN has priority on videofilename.jpg

2. Video is in the database

• videofilename.jpg/folder.jpg/thumb created from MTN has priority over MovieTitle{vdbid}.jpg stored in ...\Thumbs\Videos\Title

No, is not a problem of priority of sort load.
When sharedfolder is config for be "Every movie are in own folder, videofilename.jpg don't replace default icon folder, only folder.jpg work

2. Video is in the database

• videofilename.jpg/folder.jpg/thumb created from MTN has priority over MovieTitle{vdbid}.jpg stored in ...\Thumbs\Videos\Title

YES ! it's that !

OK, I will check that. Don't know if there is a still time to repair that for beta, if not I will mantised that for 1.3.0

OK for 1.3, And please add a delay to load fanart, when scroll all items for not overcharge disk/ CPU activity !

Fanart is not on my control .

i speak of #myvideosuserfanart , i don't know how work, but during scrolling , fanartHandler display a fanart of skipped movie ! maybe when item is selected, fanart is refreshed correctly

it's for that, i thinked, this property get information to load fanart. and add a delay (options) for read.

but i not use last SVN, no problem for me, only fontengine, for display Disc selector...
