OK. wanted to start testing but most Blu-Rays does not work for me at all.

The AVC blu-rays does work. If i chose one of the chapters instead of "menu" i dont get the AVC codec error.

Those are probably BD-J based blu-rays (if the work on title mode). To check if the failing ones are BD-J disks -> https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/810689-post85.html

You are right. Sorry. I was confused about the codec error and thought something else was wrong. So it seems that most of my Blu-Rays are BD-J disks. Is there any hope that they will work sometime in the future or is that an impossible task?

I almost missed this thread! The only reason I noticed it, was, because I'm subscribed to the "Bluray Handler 0.9.7 (BETA)"-thread. But hey, blu-rays with menus! Me likey veeery much! I will start testing perhaps tomorrow, as long as you don't make me watch all the movies from beginning to end :D I have close to 60 blu-ray movies to test. :)

If movie works for the first 15 seconds, it is highly unlikely that it wouldn't work for the rest of the movie time (some seamless branching issues could be possible).

What about Blu-ray 3D movies? Do those work in Mediaportal?

If they have a selection between 2D / 3D (like for example Alpha & Omega has). Pure 3D disks aren't working - at least the 3D is not supported (it would require quite much work on source filter, renderer and probably with the libbluray itself), haven't had any sample to test.

Crazy stupid love - menu fail (plays fine till menu, can use menu, but crash when start movie

Thanks for the sample! I didn't get crash, just:

    - root menu was not showing background image
    - movie not starting (after a long wait MP exited to My Videos)

I'll add fixing this error to my todo list. Crash could be a side effect of memory allocation failing when the video and/or audio samples are piling up when they aren't rendered and more data is requested by video or audio decoder.

Does this happen with all BDs?

What audio decoder you are using? Only LAV audio decoder is 100% compatible with all audio formats the Blu-ray can have (in future some other audio decoders could receive more supported formats).

This happends with all/most BDs... Kind of strange.
Play alot with skip chapters, back and forward till screen freeze.. You will hear sound, if you wait a few minutes/something maybe video will start play again, but theres no way to controll the movie. Seems like MP doesent take remotesignal/crashed in a strange way. I first experienced this on a bd with commersials, then you maybe need 3-4 click on remote..

Im using lav audio (bitstreaming) and lav cuvid, kind of suprised of quality, speed and how easy it is to get everything to work... (Not like bdhandler)

Both "Alice" and "Bolt" contain BD-J info so no big surprise there.:)

    Yep.

What has surprised me is that the LotR's movies do not (num_bdj_titles= 0). I've checked both the BDJO and JAR folders too and they are both empty.

I assume you'd like a sample from at least one of these movies?

I hoped that someone could send a full boxet :p A sample from one of the movies would be nice to have as it is probably a bug why the disks are failing.

    Hi tourettes,

    I've uploaded a LotR's sample for you.

    Cheers,

    Mick.

    AW: Native Blu-ray support

    Tested: Star Wars Episode 3
Seems to be a BD-J disk, works in title mode.
Playback works, changing subtitles and audio streams works too. Moving forward and backward also works.

Ok, finally got around to try this.

title mode=internal menu bluray player is enabled

Disc: Avatar Collectors Edition (2D) (BD-J)
title mode: Using menu: cannot open it! | Using titles: Working fine
nontitle mode: Playback of all titles work.

    Added to wiki :)

(And I used Cyberlink Powerdvd 11 instead of lavfvideo)
