    Hi Tourettes

First of all: Thanks for developing this new subtitle filter. Keep up the good work.

I have been testing vers. 2 a little bit. When I enter the TV-section in MP the subtitles are showing correctly. I can't see any delay, but... when I change channel there seems to be a little bit delay. The delay time seems to be a fixed amount of time. If I change channel one more time, the delay time seems to increase to another fixed amount of time.

If I press the TV on/off button in the TV-section and start all over again the subtitles seems to be showing correctly again.

Moreover: The filter don't crash when switching channels (I haven't experienced any crashes yet with vers. 2)

Could you do a small test with the http://day2.no-ip.org/TsReader.ax? It has a small change that could possible fix the increasing delay when changing a channel. (others, please don't use this version so there won't be any confusion...)

Unfortunately I was not able to reproduce the issue without the change, so it might be hard to be fix if it's not fixed in that version.

Moreover: The filter don't crash when switching channels (I haven't experienced any crashes yet with vers. 2)

Nice to hear that. Those crashes were most likely coming from the old TsReader source codes that the version 1 binary was using.

    Hi Tourettes

Unfortunately no improvement... The same experience as with the other tsreader.ax

Ok, I'll have to try to reproduce the issue by myself then somehow. How much the subtitles were approx delayed by the every channel change?

How much the subtitles were approx delayed by the every channel change?

About ½ second the first time. The delay time added for next channel switching seems to be smaller.

Its difficult to observe how late the subtitles really are, when switching channels several times. I don't know if the delay increases forever. In my test I switched channels about 10 times.

I can test it more later today.

First of all, good work tourettes!

When starting timeshifted tv I have no visible delay. But after seeking or changing channels there is a slight delay in the subs. (The delay dissappears when changing back and forth between tv-cards (DVB-C and DVB-T).)

Also, sometimes when changing channels the audio is missing. The audio appears for a very brief moment when zapping away from the otherwise silent channel.

Unfortunately I have already had one crash after ~15 min testing. It happened after zapping multiple times with above stated audio problems. Logs attached.

Logs didn't show anything special. So I'll have to try to trigger those crashes by myself also. Are you sure that those crashes aren't also happening with the unmodified TsReader?

Also you should manually delete the c:\DVBSubs.log as the .zip did contain pretty old log info also :D

I have been doing a little bit of testing and I have also experienced crashes after zapping for a while. I use only one TV-card so I can't confirm if the delay disappear when changing between cards, but as said earlier, the delay disappear when turning on/off TV.

I have been doing a little bit of zapping and I don't know if the delay continues to increase. But between the first 3 zaps I can see an increase in the delay time. Often I can zap more than 10 times before MP freezes.

Furthermore: When watching recorded TV I don't get subtitles, if I fx. skip the first 10 minutes of the show.

About those crashes, are those always a freeze? Does those happen also with TsReader that comes with the SVN build?

Also could you test if it's happening with recorded .ts files. Start different recordings for example 50 times and see if the freeze occurs.

There could be some sort of resource leak happening. If possible try to use Nvidia mpeg2 decoder and enable the systray icon. Then run MP in windowed mode and zap / start & stop .ts recordings and keep eye on the nvidia mpeg2 decoder systray icon count. Also you guys could check if GraphEdit shows increasing active graph count, then we know for sure that either TsReader or DVBsub2 filter is leaking some resources.
