Slightly bad timing

The teletext subs works like a charm for me whyle watching live tv. But when I record or resume after having paused the show the teletext appears 1 s or 2 to early. I will try to upload a ts file tomorrrow

    I tried again with tsreader from 12.11.2007 (just updated SVN sources). With 16518 SVN it's still the same as with 16511. Syncing seems to work with that clip.. it just seem to be off by 2 sec. I can't tell from bigger file as it's on my HTPC which is still in pieces.. Subs display too early.

    There's one other thing too, really weird though if it makes a difference.. On both comps I've been using Catalyst 7.10 (on XP and Vista) with x1950pro. I'll try it again with Geforce 6150 and latest Forceware as I get my HTPC together again. I'll also see if this newer tsreader keeps sync (despite the offset) on bigger clips.

    Accolon, if you can and will, you could also look if you get subs displaying 2 sec early on the clip I already uploaded (hitch_sample.ts under teletext-subtitles). I think you have download permissions from the ftp-server too. Seems like we are having the same issue.

    Edit: Viasat switched program, now the teletext subtitles doesn't display while my Samsung STB displays them fine. I've uploaded a small recording to the "teletext subtitles" folder named "Århundradet-2007-11-12-23_00.ts".

    I tried that sample, and i see subtitles.

    What do you mean by "Viasat switched program"? Do you mean they changed something or just that you changed the channel? If you switch to a new channel you will currently have to manually use the L key to find the right subtitle page number again.

    Thats interesting, if anything they display slightly late on my PC's (maybe 500ms or so). But does it only happen when you seek/pause or also when you just playback the file?

    It does seem like there is some issue here, and i would really like to fix it, but its pretty hard considering i cant reproduce it. More samples is probably the way to go.

    It's same offset from the beginning the file, seeking doesn't change it for that clip now. But I'll try later it again with new tsreader on other files to see if seeking is ok on them too. Just so we can count seeking out of this offset issue.. With older tsreader pre 12.11.07 (pre misterds fixes?) seeking did mess sync more.

    Okay, then it might some problem with the general sync mechanism, but it would still be great if i had a sample that acted like that on my PC.

    EDIT: I have been discussing sync mechanisms with tourette, i will try out a new approach if i have time this weekend. However, please keep the samples coming, otherwise i wont be able to tell quickly if what i am doing is helping or not.

    I meant that a new show was on. Subtitles disapeared. Tried flicking through the different languages but I didn't see anything.

    That is interesting, i would like a .ts sample that covers such a transition from one show to another and where the subtitles disappear.

    You do get subtitles in the sample you uploaded(Århundradet-2007-11-12-23_00.ts), right? (because i do)

    Not a right thread for my question, but asking here because lot of Finnish people is reading this thread;
    Is YLE EPG working for you? Any chance that improvements YLE DVB subtitles caused loss for EPG data?
    Happened for me in two environments, WAT passed RC2 in production and test machine for latest builds.
